Tractor
Kubota B2620 & MX5100
I closed a deal today on a new MX5100. I'm going with R1 tires, QA bucket, and an FFC 84" Hyd. Angle front blade. This thing caught my eye at the local fair in early September. It was love at first sight. I'm trading in my L3700 with a little over 500 hours on it. The L3700 is a great tractor and I have really enjoyed it, but I need a little more weight and PTO HP to run my new Rears 300 Gallon airblast sprayer in the orchard. I also have three long driveways to keep clear this winter. I am thinking about putting a rear blade on for ballest and the ability to push snow both directions. They should deliver the tractor in about a week. They need to get a bucket in and change the tires. This will be my fourth Kubota. I started with a BX2350, then a B2920, and then the L3700. So far they have all been great machines.

I hope you enjoy your new tractor as much as I do mine. So far, 35 hours, it has been darn near purrfect. The effective use of power is truly amazing. The only possible issue is its noise. It is improving with use, however, if you are going to be using it at higher RPM's I suggest earplugs.

you just cant beat the hummm of the MX5100 when she is running at 1500 to 2000rpms.

Congratulations, the MX5100 is a really nice tractor; don't forget to post the pictures.

Congratulations!

When I called Kubota a while back with a few tech questions, the MX5100 was the tractor the gentleman recommended. He was very high on it!

Love to see pics when it arrives.

Sorry guys I'm not big on pictures. Besides, if I took pics I wouldn't have a clue about how to post them. I can tell you this, it's big, orange, and hopefully one bad a## machine. You are scaring me a little about this noise thing. I seriously doubt I will be running it under 2700 rpm's much. Although I won't be using high range much. I do have a slight concern about the light rear end thing. I will run it for awhile and see how things go. If necessary I can always load the tires.

If you will load the tires, and put about 1000 lbs on the 3pt or some less in the form of an implement that sticks way out, like a rotary cutter, then you wont just think it is a beast you will thank it is a MajorTank! You must have ballast to effectively make use of all that power and lift ability. The difference when I loaded my rear tires, and put 750 lbs in the form of a close fitting ballast barrel on the back of my little L3400HST the difference was night and day, and I am not kidding!

We put wheel weights on or fluid in all the tractors we use with a FEL and still use counter weight on the 3PH.

I have yet to own a quit tractor, so any loud noise from the 5100 is not unusual. I now pretty much use all cab tractors.

I spoke with my dealer today. The QA bucket came in today and the R1 tires have been installed. I'm going to stop by and take care of the paperwork in the morning. The MX5100 should be delivered in the afternoon.

great tractor, no nonsense tough technology. 2nd on the idea of ballast since most K tractors are a bit light on their feet. had a mx5000 while back. in terms of higher rpm during 1st 500 hr break in period, i would err to the lower range up to 2200 with occasional higher rps loads. varied workloads & rpm are good in this period, avoiding lots of short cold runs. enjoy the honeymoon!!!

Much to my disappointment the tractor was not ready. So I have to do the long weekend thing without the new toy. I was pleasently surprised to learn I was getting the HD round back bucket. Not sure about the bolt on cutting edge. I would think those bolts will take a beating. They didn't have the R1 tires on yet but had the rear remote mounted, Overall, I like what I see.

Good luck with new machine bud!! I am pumped as well, I just traded in my l4400, and getting my mx5100 delivered tomorrow, cant wait. Only had the 4400 for about 5 months, then fell in love with the mx my dealer had on his lot, he cut me a great deal and that was it.

I think you will be pleased with the performance of the 5100. The trade off for the amenities of the L series didn't really bother me, the 5100 is quite comfortable and a real performer. What all are you getting with/on your 5100?

I see you had a 3700 before you jumped to the 5100 - that is what I am currently in the process of doing. I have the 5100 ordered and am waiting on it. I was wondering what did you notice between the two and are you glad you got rid of the 3700. I really like my 3700 except it just does not have the lift I need and the 3pt jumpiness is a pain.

I added the loader with QA bucket, 1 rear remote, draft control and R-1 tires.
