Neat project. I noticed your comment about the 41,800 GVWR. I am not up on PA's axle weight limits these days but that sounds excessive?

41,780 to be exact.
27K rear axle and 14,780 front axle.

I saw that but I was thinking the max allowable on a single rear axle was like 20K? Not sure about the front.

Nah there’s 21, 23, 25, 27K rear axles available.
Front axle is a Meritor MX-16 16,000lbs capacity and rear axle is a Meritor RS-30 30,000lb capacity

Sure can. It’s up to the operator of the vehicle to make sure its not overloaded. OTR, I’m pretty careful and take it slow. Off road is where I want the load capacity. It may see 100’s of 10-12 ton loads-driven slow to the dump pile.

Now that's what you want , nice reinforced tailgate too . Comes with the lift cylinder, trunnion blocks, cradle and hinge I hope? Add a cab shield too....maybe?
If the actual conveyor chain and gearbox is there you could flog that for a few bucks too.

Just the box & cab shield. I have to hunt down the rest
But it’s cheap (in todays terms).

I’m still “enjoying” those PA scales. As long as you arent over on an axle, your registered weight/tag, there's no real issue, unless something’s broke. Been a CDL holder for 30+ years with no serious issues so far

Hit a setback today.
Got bed removed and it sat for 10-15 days.

Arrived Friday to take truck to have frame sandblasted and she won’t start.

Batteries had plenty of power (note: HAD).
Started with changing fuel filter. The one I removed looked fine. Opened water drain. Did get some water. Close it once fuel was flowing. Installed new element. Crank-crank-crank, but no start. Opened water drain, fuel was under pressure and flowing.

Batteries are pretty tired now.
