I did the testing today and the pressure came out to 1750psi, just as it calls for in the NH Repair Manual, so I left it alone. The guage is on its way to thcri. (Murph)

Brant,

I should be getting the gauge next Wednesday roughly and will do my check that night and hopefully be ready to ship out to you on Thursday. You need to send me your address at thcri@qwest.net.

Re: Can you lift your front tires now?

Spencer,

I set the gauge up on my TC29D and I put it on the blue port. Which allow me to set the pressure with curling the bucket down. I could only get 1400psi at 2600 RPM's. I then took the hose off so I would only be running to the gauge and I ended up with about 1600psi. So I turned it in about a 1/4 turn and am running about 1850. I can easily lift my tractor by curling the bucket but I still cannot lift it with the loader by pushing the joystick straight down like you said we should be able to in an earlier post.

If you answer me yet tonight with some ideas I may just keep the gauge another day and ship out to Bher on Monday and maybe would do a two day UPS to keep it on schedule.

Any suggestions or ideas would greatly be appreciated.

I have a TC29D with a 7308 loader.

Re: Can you lift your front tires now?

Murph, don't worry about shipping it out right away. I am sure that everyone else is waiting patiently for their turn and will understand. Raise your FEL in the air, curl your bucket forward (like you were dumping your load), and then try to lift your front end off the ground with just the lift circuit. If you can't lift the front end like that (with the pressure set at 1850 psi) then your dealer has some explaining to do.

Re: Can you lift your front tires now?

Spencer,

I will give that a try and see what happens. I was trying by laying the bucket flat and then raising the loader. Which port is the best one for checking the pressure? Which color. Is it best to check the pressure like you said in an earlier post to just have the gauge attached to the female fitting and no hydraulic hose attached to the gauge? I just want to be extra careful not to put to much pressure on the system.

Just another note, I had a TC21D with a 7106 loader and the speed of the hydraulics seemed much faster than my 29. I did turn the valve under the seat but does not make much difference. Also my 2nd range reverse seems so slow compared to my 21 backing up in low range? Call me goofy but it just seems to be that way.

Again thanks for your help.-

Murph, I checked my pressure on both the red and green circuits. With the gauge only attached to the tractor side and not the FEL side (no hose) you should get the same pressure readings in any of the four circuits.

I realize what you are saying about lifting the front end with the bucket flat and you should be able to do that. These 7308 are supposed to have a 4" digging depth. That means that with the bucket flat the bottom of the bucket should be able to dig 4" deeper than the bottom of the tires. So therefore you should be able to pick up the front end 4" if you are on a hard surface. Other than doing the test in my last post (curling the bucket first) here is another test you can try. Put some boards or cement blocks underneath the bucket (while it is flat) and then try to lift your front end up with just using the lift circuit.

Hey Guys, You can skip me.

bnixon should ship the gauge to cdcole.

I mentioned to my dealer what we were doing here and that I was going to check the hydraulic pressure on my tractor when I got the gauge and he said not to bother that he'd be glad to bring their gauge setup and show me what it was set to. Well, he did and at 2600 rpm it read 1820 psig. While he was here with it we also checked the system pressure relief and it relieved at 2140 psig.

I have no problem in lifting the front tires off the ground with just the arm cylinders, I don't have to use the curl at all.

Spencer,

I am getting 1850 psi on all four circuits at 2600 RPM. I curl the bucket straight down and then try and lift the tractor with the arms and can not. The only way I can is to drive the tractor forward as I push the joystick forward. I guess I really don't know what to say. Should I be concerned or not?

The last time I mentioned to someone that I belong to a discussion group the guy really got upset and said no one on them discussion groups know what they are talking about (that was for my ATV)
