No Joy Joystick

Just joined the board.

I have about 900 hrs on my 01 TC 40 D and have gone through 3 of these. The 4th and current is the updated version and I do not think this one will be a problem.

Interesting point on this item is that NH has replaced the other under warranty but this last one they would not. The service manager at my local shop was really upset at the Area Service Manager who would not approve this part under warranty. My noramal warranty has expired, I am really saying faulty part.

I think you are probably right about the latest joystick not breaking. I haven't heard of a problem since NH redesigned the part. I think they should have replaced your last joystick too. At least they could have given you a big discount on price, but they don't seem to be willing to take responsibility and do a recall. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

This is the first time I've read completely through this whole thread and I assume on the 04 models they've installed the new improved joysticks on them? I got my replacement July of '03 so you MUST have the new one.

Nah! No way! You probably have the old b-a-d joystick. What you need to do is take yours off and send it to me. I wonder if this thread was really one of the influences to make NH change the design? It sure couldn't have hurt any. A lot of good examples of a bad design that's for sure. I'll say it again TBN is a great place!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

RaT, last weekend RedRocker stopped by my place and I let him use my tractor to see what it felt like with a toothbar. He got to see my hose-clamped joystick and use it too. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Spencer200, this thread is not about dealer support or me getting a new joystick. It's about all those tractors with poorly designed joysticks out there while NH won't have a recall to replace the bad part. While this is one of the very poor performing parts, I think you know how I love my little tractor. You don't have to look very far to find another thread where I'm also leading the cheers.
