Here's my little lawn mower. I'm 65, maybe I'm missing something, but it should go on easily. I think pictures would help to figure out what's wrong. I just removed mine, then back on. Tractor now has 110 hours, hoe maybe 15. It's easier each time. As someone suggested I think something is bent, out of line, worn, etc.
I just use stabilizers and roll the lawn mower back and forth as needed. Easy.View attachment 557407View attachment 557408View attachment 557409View attachment 557410
Yours looks completely different. For starters my 3pt has to be removed before I even start. It's tight for space back there. I mean really tight.

I sure wished I was there to see it. Something is obviously wrong, it shouldn't be that tight clearance either. I keep a zippered canvas bag mounted under seat which holds lots of tools, pins, etc. So I easily and quickly can loosen hitch turnbuckles out of the way, then adjust for Bush hog, etc.
It should be almost effortless.

ok how tall is your dolly?

Don't know off hand but I think the casters are 6" heavy duty for the load rating bolted to a 4 X 6 crosspiece laying flat so maybe about a foot. I had to modify it once already to allow the frame of the hoe to rotate more, lower, so I could get the hoe off. The frame of the hoe pivots on the crosspiece. I think it may be a tad high yet. The casters are rated at 600lbs each. I'm using two fixed and two swivels and the hoe weighs about 1200 lbs. I could either get smaller casters if I can find smaller that will take the load or maybe back the back tires of the tractor up onto some 2 X 6s, 4 X 8s or something. I'll study on it later.

My woods was a real pain the first few times, even after I learned how.

Seems like after using it a few times, the tolerances between all the parts loosened up and it got better.
It's like sex, you need to lubricate the mating joints. Axle grease smeared on contact points is a recommended step in the manual for my KMW 3710 backhoe.

Yeah well this critter is far from effortless. I'll get it sooner or later. I always do. Some times it's easy and some times ya gotta think harder.

I wish you were here too. Bring some barbeque when you come will ya.

This ain't got nuttin to do with lube. It's about two solids trying to occupy the same space at the same time and I know enough physics to know that ain't gonna happen.

No, it's not near as fun. I tried spitting on the hoe, but it still didn't fit.

I wish I'd thought of driving the tractor up onto something to get it a bit higher earlier. But I was too tired, aggravated, and too POd to think then.

It's a Mahindra, right? I would go by the dealer and talk to them. Take pictures of it, maybe something installed improperly.
I was laughing WITH you at first since it took both of us so long the first time. Then my 5 watt light bulb came on and now it's a piece of cake.
If it's one thing I learned over the years it's smarter not harder. So many things it's proper alignment, grease, leverage.
