Well first off I would like to know where I was quoted that I said there is enough horsepower discussion. I am fine with the discussion. There are other facts to be discussed too. Also that was an observation. I was not picking on anyones discussion. I have noticed that there have been alot of disscussions ending in arguments and threads closed. No I am not a moderator but stop beating a dead horse. I am sure kubota will post the facts shortly since this is a new machine.

It is helpful to get some stats. The following post by Neil Messick (a Kubota Dealer) is what I have been going by. This is from a previous thread.

So it appears that higher rpm ups the hp, but the loss in torque is more than offset by a wider bore than the engine in the 2350.

I'm not totally sure if your following what I said there. The BX2350 and the BX2660 both run at 3200 rpms. Some other tractor manufacturers have been known to come out with "new" models by simply cranking up the rpms and charging more $$. I think thats kinda cheating. Kubota is not doing that here. This is a larger displacment engine, producing 26 Hp and therefore should also have more torque & HP than the BX2350.

That said, I personly would not buy this tractor for the engine power. Its just not needed. I would be attracted to the all metal construction and the superior seat... two things that only Kubota is offering on a subcompact.

I take it with the bigger motor and all metal body that this tractor is going to way a bit more then the 2350? How will the fuel economy compare to the other bx's? I am curious because I am looking at upgrading to a bx24 at the end of this year but if this one accompanies a BH I may look into this new tractor instead. I would love to have that fancy seat now. LOL

Sorry, but no. It isn't a dead horse, either literally or metaphorically, to me. If others get tired of discussing it, they will stop discussing it. Threads usually come to an end that way. You are free to discuss the aspects that you want to discuss in this thread, but the same goes for others. Two people are allowed to tell me what to do: my boss and my wife, and you ain't neither one of them. I don't take issue if you disagree, but I surely won't stop discussing this topic just because you tell me to. Why is it so important to you that you have this inner need to tell people to stop what they are talking about? Do you do that to people's faces in the non-cyber world? You seem to be the argumentative one.

Those are all excellent questions. I am sure Woods will shortly offer a comatable subframe and the BH6000 will become available for the BX2660. Many are probably wondering whether Kubota will follow the BX2660 with a BX26.

I do follow you Neil. In post #15 above, flatlander quotes these stats from Kubota Canada.

The BX2350 is D902 block, 54.8ci w/ 2.8 bore and 2.9" stroke rated RPM 3200 23hp PTO-17.7hp

The BX2660 is D1005 block, 61.1ci w/? bore and ? stroke rated RPM-3200 25.5hp PTO-19.5hp

The B2320 is D1005 block, 61.1 ci w/ 3.0" bore and 2.9" stroke rated RPM-2800 23hp PTO-17.2hp

I think some of the confusion is in that three different tractors are being compared to each other at the same time. As you say, 2660 and 2350 are running at same rpm. On the other hand, 2660 and 2230 have same block, yet 2660 is running at higher rpm. Before I had these stats, I was going on that post you made a couple of weeks ago.

Flatlander, I surely agree on the chipper. That's one place I'd really love to apply a little extra power. I think the extra power might also be just enough for a step up in PTO powered generator in some cases.

We've been asked this several times already. There is no BX26 in the near future. Kubota's always one step ahead and I would not be surprised if there will be one eventually.

I'm not trying to be argumentative with you, but continuing to tell me, "enough of how it got its horsepower," "quit beating a dead horse," "Drop it already!" just ain't cool dude. I really can believe you do talk like that in person. I have to wonder how many people follow your orders or stick around very long.

I was wondering what model tractor is to the left and right of the 2660? They both have BH's on them and look bigger then a 24.
