G'day all. I've been exclusively smoking a pipe for the past 8 years now. Gave up the '5 minute' cigs for a 20 minute bowl and never looked back. The best side-benefit is all of the non-smokers coming up to me commenting on how they love the smell.

My pipe has always been a "Falcon". It's made in England & is mostly metal (aluminium), which is designed to cool the smoke, with a screw on wooden bowl. Various bowls can be purchased & they all fit the standardised 'base'. Cleaning it after each session is a breeze, especially WRT that bit of moisture that bubbles away in regular pipes.

Blend of choice is Erinmore Mixture = very smooth. Borkum Riff if the Erinmore isn't available.

If fact, I think I'll go outside & have a puff right now. I prefer to smoke outside... it's quiet & relaxing.

I bought my first tobacco pipe when I was 19. I smoke it about 3 times a week. I smoke Sir Walter Raleigh tobacco.

I remember I had a bus driver when I was 12, who would smoke a pipe on the bus. lol I didn't mind it and actually it made the bus smell like apple pie. The only downside is whenever he'd smoke that pipe it'd give off that yummy smell and my tummy would start growling. It always made me hungry. lol

I remember I tried my first pipe when I was 5 and it was at this guys house who we're great friends with. He was in his 70's at the time and that day when I was 5, he was smoking his pipe and he offered me a smoke of it.

He had to pry it out of my hands. lol He said, okay now give it back. :)

Sadly he died a few years ago. He was/is a great man. He was just like a Grandpa to me. He'd tell me to come in anytime and get some candy out of his kitchen. He even left the door un locked when he'd go somewhere and tell me to help myself to the candy in the kitchen.

And I did too. lol

Chad

Nice memories. Wagtail, good to hear about the Falcon and your favorite baccy's, I haven't tried either. I've always liked the look of the Falcons, but have never smoked one.

Apple strudel to the (dumb) palette rescue.... Taste's great (just don't smoke it too fast, tongue burn will ensue, like many/most aromatics). Good stuff, maynard

Yum...just smokin' it slowly (as all damp/aromatics). This is some "boswell" brand stuff that I've had for a bit.
