Pipe smoking

I have a couple Comoy's briars, a semi-cheap meerschaum, and keep a rotation of cobs for smoking in the car and outdoors. I favor burley tobacco, but about a year ago I found a new favorite: Anniversary Kake from Hearth & Home.

BTW, MO Meerschaum recently introduced a new hardwood series of pipes. Has anyone else tried these? I rate the older hardwoods as okay, but these newer hardwoods are a pass: stick with the wonderful cobs.

I love smoking a pipe. I'm the same way, JF, I'll go a couple weeks without one, then smoke two a day for a week.

Haven't smoked a pipe in 10 or 15 years, briar, meerschaum, and corn cob,still have them, smoked cavendish blends.

Glad to know it's not just an echo chamber in here. :laughing: Why did you give up the pipe?

yeah the newer hardwood pipes are definately a pass. i say you can't beat a good ol' cob. cheap and flavorful.... what more can you ask for? just had a nice burley mixture in a cob today. it hit the spot.

Smoking an old Peterson (p-lip), got some Carter Hall in it, while I'm drying out some FVF (Full Virginia Flake by Samuel Gwaith), that I've had in a mason jar since 07/10.

The Peterson, I bought as an estate (used) pipe off of ebay, iirc, probably $40-$70. Great pipe...
