It might be hard to justify the cost of the pods for those in limited snow areas but in the deep snow areas of the country they obviously make good sense. To me they wouldn't replace snowmobiles for most recreational uses but for any utility work they appear to be the best option. I've been looking for a used set over the past few months and they don't show up very often and if the do they seem to hold their value well. I could see myself with a set next winter on the Polaris General if the snow piles up.

We normally operating on snow that's been knocked down by previous machines. (ak ski trails) But on rare occasions, there was so much new snow, moving on it with snowshoes would be difficult to impossible. We do receive snow here on the south shore of the big lake. Here is a deep snow shot. There was so much that day it was forced up into the radiator and overheated this machine.
