Poly snowplow edge report

Can you please forward a link to where I can purchase the UHMW poly? Paying $250 for the 8' piece was too much.

I got it from InterstatePlastics.com. You have to dig a little on their site but the stuff I ended getting was UHMW and is red in color. The red means it is UV stabilized and won't break down outside.

Put "UHMIV-IPX 2000 UHMW SHEET" into their search field and it should come up. Cool stuff and it drilled and routed very easy.

Builder, have you ever thought of using the rubber edge? I got a piece of this very hard rubber like material that was used on a county truck. A friend of mine who works for the county got it for me. It certainly does not clean as well as metal to asphalt but then again you don't have to worry about damaging stuff. I've also noticed the state road crews that plow I-95 here in Maryland use the rubber edge.

Does your "friend" have any more? I could pick it up;)

You might want to throw this question out on plowsite.com . I put a poly edge on my blizzard plow about 7 years ago, and it has worn very well. I don't remember where I bought it or what it cost, but I got the info from plowsite. Being in central NC I don't plow that often, but I probably have 50-80 actual hours of contact plowing with the edge, and it hasn't even worn down 1/3 of the way, and when it wears too much I can flip it over.

I couldn't plow pavers or stamped concrete without it.

Are you using this rubber on a snow blade, such as a pull behind blade?

thanks,
