I don't know how to paste the link, but there is a very good thread going on in the "Build it Yourself" section of this forum. Great ideas.

Hi loghouse :)

This topic comes up a few times a year, you might want to try the "search" function, should be at the top of your page. A search for "Post Hole Digger Stand" or "PHD Stand" or "PHD Dolly" should return lots of threads to read.

Here's a picture to wet your whistle...

Simple people do simple things. I just back under a tree limb, hook a chain around the digger and un-hook.:2cents:

I don't use mine much, so I spend 15 minutes to take it apart and lean the pieces in a corner.

Here's mine, if yours is really heavy you might want to use 6x6 posts and a 4x4 crossbar. You slide the crossbar out, back into place, put the crossbar back, lower the PHD, unhook, then drive away.

Nice PHD,etc.
I'am guessing you keep the other half of the PHD pto shaft in the barn. Also judgeing from that knot in your first picture, you were either a sailor at one time or a "professional hangman". :D

Thanks Boone.. the PHD is fairly old, at least 15 years as far as I know. I got it last spring and overhauled it. It had been dug into the ground for at least two years, maybe more, the previous owner couldn't remember the last time he used it. The exposure to ground and water didn't seem to bother it one bit. I just brushed the loose rust off and slapped a coat of rust paint on the whole thing, put some new bearings and oil in 'er and she works good. Sold under the Kubota name, made by a company in the States.

I don't like leaving the whole PTO shaft on any of my implements, to me it's like leaving the keys in your car.
