Buying Advice Power Trac 1445 (Buying Questions)

I have the skid steer version (R4). They work OK for me, at least to the limit of ground adhesion. For slick stuff like 20 degree slope mowing of thistle, I add net chains. I have never tried to use Ag type bar tires (R1) on my 1445. Based on using other tractors, I would say go for the R4s unless your ground is soft, in which case I would go with the R1s. Just bear in mind that the R1 will tear things up a lot more.
