Pulling a trailer with your tractor

/ Pulling a trailer with your tractor #81
Where are folks finding the tow rating for their tractors and the max tongue weight for the drawbar? I can't find anything for my NH TC33D in the owner's manual, and a search online has not turned up anything yet.

Mine is on the identification plate in the tractor and on the title. The drawbar rating is on the drawbar it self but don't have a good enough picture of it.

My 18’ equipment trailer empty weighs 2500 pounds and I have pulled it with my IH 424.

The empty trailer can push the tractor around on hills even with the tractor brakes applied.

I've moved my dozer to jobs many times with my tractor,

but more often I'm moving loads of firewood,

And sometimes I even head home with "grapple load" on the pallet forks too,

Most times with a tractor, it isn't, "will it" do it, it's "should you" do it...

Did some work on a diesel 7.3 one ton Ford long box 4x4 one spring that would not start. It had rained for weeks. hooked on in 2 wheel drive 1st gear and forgot the Ford was in gear . Pulled it to the garage and turned around to look there was a foot of mud pushed up in front of all four tires on the Ford, the tractor never spun a tire.

Wish I could find the factory engine driven Air compressor and tank trailer brake kit for the Rhino tractors, would be handy to have.

Yep.
Many trees I have put a long line on them on top of a ladder that were leaners and put tension on with the tractor ,then shallow hinge cut and pulled them over against the lean. including this/these.

Probably should have hired it out.

Research On Board Air (OBA) in the Jeep type forums. They have used AC compressors to make belt driven air compressors.

I built one and it has enough CFM to run a framing nailer and was very handy when we were building fence.

I want a OBA setup for my TC45DA. I just need to find a salvage TC with a factory cab and get the HVAC compressor and it’s mounting brackets and pulleys to make it.

I could make the brackets but factory stuff is easier and less likely to have alignment issues.

I did the York factory AC compressor on my old J10 Jeep used a standard 120 ish pressure switch to the clutch and a 10 gallon tank Pumped air faster than my 5 HP IR 60 gallon unit

This factory option was neat, Pump is mounted to the front engine gear cover.
Never been able to find the pump on aliexpress or alibaba, I keep checking from time to time though. It has a run no run lever, and is driven off of the Injection Pump's gear.

Be careful with a rear axle(s) only trailer and using the three point instead of the fixed drawbar. It doesn't take much upward pressure on the tongue to overpower the control arms, and you'll drag the rear of the trailer or your load. More tongue weight than you'd have with a bumper hitch helps avoid that.

My Massey 7495 has an air compressor mounted to the diesel engine, just like a typical air-braked truck, and trailer air brakes.
