Considering a purchase. Anyone recommend a manufacturer / brand ?

I'm happy with my Ratchet Rake. No holes to drill, mounts/dismounts easily, and not fussy about width of bucket lip. (3) Much of my use is to shallow-scratch my long d'way (bottom teeth (y)) before dragging to move fines into potholes. It does a LOT more.

That's a pretty good size tractor that you have so I would recommend these: W.R. Long, Inc. | Tooth Bar & Wear Blades

I have one and it's over kill for my tractor....

I HATE my Ratchet Rake... fine for smoothing and leveling but you can not dig dirt with it.
Thanks, This looks like a good one. I was trying to determine if anyone had one that did not require drilling your bucket. Such as,
Tractor Bucket Toothbar

This one "looks" okay but .... I do not want to purchase and then find out it is not worth it / doesn't work well.

I like my Ratchet Rake too, for clearing in woodlands and minor grading and garden prep.

However, you CANNOT DIG with a Ratchet Rake attached to your bucket.

A Deere 2355 weighs 6,000 pounds bare tractor. If you want to dig less wide than your bucket, a Bucket Spade from Bucket Solutions should be considered. There are other Bucket Spades but Bucket Solutions' spade is the heaviest sold and most suitable for your heavy-ish compact tractor.

Thanks Jeff, I was looking for something to dig with. No large areas, but more for say planting a tree / minor landscaping / that sort. Really, just getting a hole started is the usually the hardest part.
Do you have a bucket spade too ? Wondering how well this might dig. Don't want to mess up / bend my tractor bucket.

My RR easily fits or swaps onto all three CUT FELs in 5 min and doesn't stay on any one of them more than a day or so because it's too limiting for most FEL work. Different jobs for different snobs I guess.

For fixed mount I'd have a Piranha bar on a QA bucket. Bolt holes on TC33DA suggest it wore one in a past life.

Jeff,
Sorry, did not notice the attached thread. Still curious, the picture looks like in sandy soil. Have you tried in heavier clay type soils ?

I use the Piranha bar and it is very good. Even with my low HP tractor I can easily undercut vines and small trees. Our soil has a lot of clay in it and this does not slow the bar down. IF you get one remember to always park with the Piranha down in the dirt. It is an absolute witch to hit a shin on.

I've got the Bucket Spade and have used it successfully to dig in mixed clay/rock soil.

I attach it to my forks rather than the bucket, which allows a bit more reach, angle and distance in front of the tractor.

I believe the digging process is also more visible when using the forks rather than when it's attached to the bucket.

The risk is to not over-torque the FEL when using the spade with the 60hp Kubota tractor and its standard LA1065 loader.
