Here's some pictures of the ballast box with the forms off. We plan to paint it up nice to match the Kioti. I'll post pictures when that's done.
Even though it's nice to have the concrete in the barn, I'm really most excited about using the ballast box.

Concrete takes about a month to cure. I'd wait at least a week to put it under any stress i.e. lifting it.

I don't want to take any chances so I'll wait until the end of next week. Then move it into the barn to paint it.

Even though my wife is anxious to paint it right now.:)

I missed something. What are the pipes for in the top of it?

Cool looking ballast. You will enjoy having that on the 3pt, and the utility of having the tool holders.

Thanks for the comments.

Before joining TBN I knew nothing about a ballast box or the world of tractors. After reading threads here on TBN I have had my eyes open to a whole new world of places to spend my money.

I may never use the chain saw holder or use the pipes for long tools. But hey, they are there now for ever.

Yeah a ballast box, especially one with a bit of storage can be a handy thing. Some here scorn them and say "why have a worthless dead weight" when I can have an implement on the back I can use also. Well, that is fine and all well and good, but a box blade or a mower hangs out further to the rear, which they will point out makes them more effective as ballast due to leverage. Yep all true and the hanging way the heck out there also make the much more effective for knocking the heck out of things you didn't want to hit like the side of your house, etc when you are working in close quarters. I have a couple of places I have to maintain that having something on the back of the tractor that is as wide as the tractor and sticks out is quite the hazard for damage. You don't have to worry about the ballast box. It is not wide, and it is tucked in close. The only thing you have to worry about is when you park and drop it to the ground, you might need to remember to pick it up again before you take off in a hurry. (please don't ask how I know about that:) )

Thanks, that's pretty creative. I didn't even notice the chain saw holder. That's just genius!!!
