It's March 2nd in Northern PA..10 day forecast indicates a warming trend.

Looks like Mud Season is officially here.

Has anyone taken off their tractor snow chains yet???

Thinking it might be time, but I have been known to rush Spring!!!

Chains do help in mud also which I usually left ours on till the mud dries out.

No chains here. But, like many, it's "Mudd Fest" time. I would not dare take the tractor out on the property this time of year. Particularly muddy spring this year. Lots of rain - very little snow. The top two or three inches is GOO - still frozen at greater depths.

I have chains but didn't put them on this year. So far I haven't needed them. Just came in from plowing 6" and all was fine. A couple weeks ago we got a 12" snow and no problem moving it. My tractor is garage kept in winter so if I did need chains it wouldn't take long to put them on. I'm in the snow belt just 20 mi. S.E. of Lake Ontario and 20 mi. north of Syracuse.

I'm a little north of you and it's still snowing. Chains are on, sap season and mud season are a few weeks away, I hope.... The chains come off when the ground is bare and dry.

Its going to the single digits tonight and we have received a few inches of snow over the last few days. A warm up is forecasted for Sunday and Monday but then it will get cold again and the driveway will turn to ice.

I will not be removing the chains from my Massey for at least another month.

The chains on my New Holland stay on year round for use in the woods.

I might take of my snowblower this weekend? And put on the box blade. Still leave chains and FEL plow on if Mother Nature turns into some feisty PMS'ing?
