Ripper/Subsoiler

Hello all,

Does anyone out there own one of these? They're sold on ebay from an outfit in MI. Looks like a pretty good setup, but I'm concerned about the strength of the connection between the hitch reciever and the ripper shank.

Any thoughts?

I own a BX2360, and I'm looking for a multipurpose tool for ripping the odd rock/stump, loosening the ground to bury a cable, etc.

This may work. Go deeper and don't worry about breaking it. Curved (parabolic) shank better for putting in wire or pvc in the ground. Ken Sweet

The local Tractor Supply chain stores or Southern States farm supply chains sell a wonderful SUBSTANTIAL Ripper for that money. I have concerns about that design holding up. I purchased a unit and used it well.

Thanks for the feedback. The only ones that I can seem to find available in Canada are the KingKutters. To be honest, they don't look a lot more sturdy than this one does!

I bought the $~150 subsoiler from Tractor Supply. For the same money as the eBay one, you get the whole sha-bang (no need to provide your own drawbar)

Do you have a box blade? If so just lower one ripper and get the same results I think:thumbsup:

I bought a subsoiler from Tractor Supply ( I believe it's rebranded King Kutter )
so far it has held up very well . The tractor ( B7500 ) will come to a stop if I snag a thick root or rock . I just back up a touch and raise the implement and continue past .

I have used it in the garden , a couple of low poor drainage areas , and eventually to run a water line .

I recommend this style. In most conditions, you will not get the same results with one ripper tooth on a box blade. The shank is not free to go as deep.
