Yes - that four letter word. Yesterday( 10/23/22) Brownie and I drove up north. Into the northern reaches of EA WA and over Sherman Pass. At the highest elevations ( 5500+ feet) there was two fresh inches and it was snowing lightly. Brownie remembered the snow and had a blast when we stopped near the top. It's coming but should be a while yet for where I live. My elevation is 2300 feet.

I live at 6800’ and we’re having rain, but there is about 6” of snow above 9000’ now in the Sangre de Cristo and Jemez mountains near me.

We had just a couple inches of wet, heavy snow about 40 miles SE of us last week that knocked out power in a few small towns. The leaves are still on the trees, they weighed down, snapped and broke power lines.

It's used to be pretty common to get at least one snowfall before Halloween here. Now, when it happens, people are surprised.

Yes growing up as kids we always had to plan our costume to have a winter jacket on under it to keep warm, but still go trick or treating. Of course now living out of town I have no idea what the kids do. WE have not seen a trick or treater in the 7 years we have lived on the farm.

Woke up to snow on the mountains all around us and only about 100' or so above our elevation. Forecast is for small amounts of snow overnight.

This has been such a weird weather year. Firstly we went from winter directly into summer with no spring to talk about and now we go from an extended summer directly into winter. A few days ago we were wearing shorts outside and experiencing a lengthy drought and record high temps. Now it's hovering just above freezing during the day and -6*C at night.

Say ain't that time again already.

Yep. Seems like we skipped over fall here. Went from 80 to 30, sun to snow. But I'm not complaining, I love the winter!! :devilish:🥶

It seems that you guys are hogging the weather. We're having unseasonable weather here this week, Thursday is supposed to be near or above 70' (F). The first day of deer season is Saturday, I'm not fond of hunting in my tee shirt.

The snow two days ago was pretty wet. It was still above freezing when we topped Sherman Pass. Fortunately we are getting rain out of this passing storm front.

Would like to see more pics of Brownie if you have them.

I do have pics of Brownie. Wish I would have got some of him in the snow. Here he is in all his glory.

As a young pup - as a REAL hairball - after a haircut. Brownie is a 25# registered Chocolate Cocker Spaniel.
