Dennis, seeing any performance difference?
Dennis, seeing any performance difference?
About 2-3 days in early summer. My complaint was about loss of signal during even modest rain showers. Their polite in-app email response basically said to get used to it. Otherwise it’s been great since arriving in February.I have a suspected hardware problem with SL equipment. I posted a support ticket this morning, and got the message about "unexpected high volume" meaning response might be slow.
If you posted such a ticket, what sort of response time did you receive?
with the billing and turning off the wrong dish that we had issues with it was sometimes hours or less then a day. It took me forever to figure out how to send a ticket in.....thumbs down when you search for an issue lets you open up a ticket....I have a suspected hardware problem with SL equipment. So basically, no difference than DirectTV for reception/transmit in heavy clods with water or a drizzle or a storm.About 2-3 days in early summer. We see a HUGE difference between Starlink and the WildBlue satellite system we had years ago. Wildblue used similar technology and geosynchronous satellites as Direct TV. Wildblue would lose signal in a moderate rain. With Starlink, we still have working internet in all but the heaviest storms. So basically, no difference than DirectTV for reception/transmit in heavy clods with water or a drizzle or a storm.
I did the update to the app and restarted my phone and the message changed. Looks like they are aware although no notice that I can find.
I used the router address you Provided and the speed test worked. Weird that the app has just stopped doing them. At any rate, speed is off a bit last couple of days. I will give it a few more days to see if it improves then I may reboot everything and go from there.I just run the Starlink speed check from my computer. It doesn't run the whole gamut of tests like the phone app does, but it works.
Just go to http://dishy.starlink.com/
or
http://192.168.100.1/ (That is the default router address, unless you have changed your set-up)
Things have been significantly slower than normal here today as well.I used the router address you Provided and the speed test worked. Weird that the app has just stopped doing them. Thank you for the help!
Plug for what? Outlet? The hole in the wall?I am curious what kind of plug others have used. Since it is mounted on the roof and exposed to rain, do I need a gfci? Also what about lightening concerns? Has anyone done any special grounding for it?
