Still stuck between BX23 and B7510

Looking at your picture I would think the 23 would do fine for you unless your going to travel out into the woods for anything. The landscape chores you mention could be done with little problem with a 23

So I did some more homework. Here in a nutshell is about 6 weeks of searching and dealership hunting. Note I'm only interested in TLBs, so the prices always include those. To get to a tractor FEL, subtract roughly 6k.
- BX23 $15,200
- B7510HSD w/LA302 FEL, B4672A BH $18,700 (9,900|3000|5800)
- 4110G $18550 (incl mmm)
- 4110H $21,200 (no mmm)
- TC24DAH $20,450 (BH6000BH@$6500)
- TZ24H $15,945 (BH6000@$6500)

I tried to check out CKs, but the dealer was insufferable and wanted to sell me his Vietnamese rebuild grays instead (better margin?). The other dealer was 70 miles away.

All things considered, I have some allegiance to Green, but not with that much price difference, I couldn't do it. The Blues also looked nice, but price was also an issue. Plus they ran the place out of one of those warehouse front stores and their service department was a one car stall in the back.
So that left me with Kubota.

After comparing the BX with the TZ (and the new BH6000 BH) if I were to get a SubCUT I'd have to seriously consider the Blue. It's just a better size. But the dealership...

That left me to reconsider a BX vs 7510. The B7510 is just a bigger, more serious tractor. For the 3k+ you get a lot more tractor than that amount of money would indicate. The BX always left me smiling, so it's a nice piece, but it always left me thinking what will it not do for me. This is a very personal decision and is based upon your property size, slope and intended jobs. It was a close call, as I almost came home with the BX more than once.

I compared the service departments and warranty work of the two Kubota shops, and settled on the one that did free pickup and delivery on warranty work and also offered some times of year for free maintenance pickup. They also had the best price.

Next Wednesday comes the delivery of the B7510 w/FEL and BH. Wonder what I'll go dig up first?

[[for those of you wondering, Issaquah Kubota, near Seattle, won out...]]

A great process you went through and reminded me so much of myself!!!
First! You will love it and you will never look back on your decision !!
Second! I just went back and bought a RTV900 !
Third! They just Hired me today!
Fourth! What in **** were they thinking?? You may ask!!

Bill,
Great choice. You won't be disappointed. I went through the same process and it really came down to the "biggest bang for the buck" analogy in my final decision. I've never looked back. Great tractor.... and great dealer. Did you buy from Mark Hovey?

BossBill,

I have 3.7 acres and have often felt that for the long term and if only one tractor was in the picture that a B7500 size machine would be "made to order" for my needs. And since your needs seem very similar, I would say you did good in your decision to go for the B7510.

One thing that came to mind is backhoe bucket size. What size are you getting? Let me just say that I got 10 and 16 inch buckets with mine, and now I wish I would have 12 and 24 inch buckets. I could be wrong, but I want to remember (actually DON"T want to remember) that my dealer told me one bucket was included in the price of the backhoe. If that is the case, I should have got the 24" and bought whatever 2nd smaller (read cheaper) bucket I wanted. If this is the way it really is, give serious consideration to the larger bucket, since they cost too much to want to buy after you have the backhoe and decide you want one.

You mentioned a creek. I have about 500' of drainage ditch that I need to clean out occasionally, and when doing that kind of thing I wish for the wider bucket. Also, a 10" bucket for my use in clay is not the best because it sticks a lot, and you end up going through the motions but moving little dirt if you don't stop and clean out the bucket frequently.

Anyway, just a thought...although you did not ask, I am going to suggest you get nothing less than an 16" bucket if you are only getting one bucket.

You did good I think. The B7510 is a great tractor from what I can see. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Yes I did, but he failed to give me 10% off I expected by mentioning your name (snicker).
However, he does have his wall covered with pics of you digging out stumps ...

I opted for the 12", as it's the size I need for drainage and utillty ditches. I hadn't considered getting more than one. I'll let you know after I dig some.

Although you get one bucket I wasn't aware you could get any size you wanted.

My drainge ditch up top should be no problem as the area we live in has round river rocks and the dirt -- well it's dirt.

I found out that part of my house remodel may require me to move the driveway and widen it for firetruck access. Darn, now I'll have to use the tractor more...

When I purchased the BX22, the 10" was the standard bucket and the 12" was the optional extra cost bucket. I don't think that the difference was much more than $10 or $15 so most dealers don't make mention of it. In my case, I told the dealer that I wanted to look at his "book" to make sure that I got everything that was offered that I might want. That is how I found out about the flip over pads.. surprisingly they were price as each, not a single dollar amount for the pair. Quite surprisingly, there were not many options available for the BX at that time. HD Alternator, flip over pads, block heater, and rear work light were all that were available. I was surprised to find that he did stock the optional items such as the sweeper, rear weight box, etc. at the time. He also didn't discount them even if you were purchasing at the same time as the tractor. Come to think of it, the only thing that was an either or option was turf or bar tires. I opted for both and have never used the turfs. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I'll post a pic as soon as it gets above 20 deg and there is enough light, but my B7510 just got delivered.

I don't know -- how many of you got your tractor delivered with a full fuel tank?
I'm impressed.
In fact, when we were there doing the final paperwork, the guy that does the pre-delivery came out and started chatting with us.
"Oh, you just bought the 7610? Nice tractor. Let me put a ribbon on it with your name so no one takes it. I'll also put a ribbon on the backhoe, as that's the last one. That way it's yours."
On delivery I was expecting it tomorrow. It came a day early.
Again I'll say I'm impressed.

Mine came with a full tank of fuel.

I hope you enjoy your 7510 as much as I enjoy mine. I have mostly been clearing trees and have pushed over some pretty big ones with the FEL since the ground is so wet here right now.

Next big item for me is Top n Tilt as soon as I get my act together and send some information to CCM so they can build it for me. I will report on that when I get it installed and get a few hours on it.
