Took off work early.
Work on 2 nd deck.
Neighbor dug trench for electric service, I laid conduit.
The electric co put in a shared transformer. They offered cheaper price if we dug and installed the conduit. My neighbor, who is a plumber, had access to a backhoe. The electric line does not follow the road, but passes across our properties behind them, along the creek, originally connecting two of the earliest houses by the most direct route.
We came from a pole on my property, up the hill on my side of our property line. The transformer was placed just inside his property line in our back yards. He also dug from the transformer location to our houses. Because of my topsoil pile, he had to arc around it, which benefited me later when I put in my geothermal.
The electric co at a later date installed the transformer and wire to the meter base.
Picture of my geo thermal area in the direct line between house and transformer. The electric goes right of the right pole.
That’s a picture taken a few yrs ago after the geothermal install. Just to show why I’m glad the elect run wasn’t a straight line.
However, my grass is starting to green up already now, it’s been so mild.
