Exactly. We will use the attic space to run HVAC, electric, in ceiling sound, etc.

I spent the afternoon installing our ring chandeliers. Some of the t&g for the inside ceiling arrived today as well.

Nice, cant wait to see the ceiling.
I started on the ceilings today. We decided to go with an unstained ceiling as opposed to staining like we did at the house. Should make the timbers stand out and brighten things up. It will also help photographers for bouncing light. Initially I planned to hire this out but will prob finish it myself to save some $.

Fantastic! Just went back and read through the whole thread. Amazing idea and project. Never in my wildest dreams would I think of a timber frame inside a metal open floor building. Following along now. :thumbsup:

My initial plan was for a brand new facility in a different location. When I started putting the numbers together in my head I started to get nervous about the revenue I would have to generate. After some long nights thinking about how to pull it off I decided to try to utilize what we already had. I think my timberframer thought I was a little crazy when I approached him with the idea. His initial comment was that it couldn't be done. We talked for a few minutes and hung up the phone. 30 minutes later I sent him my profile sketches and called him back. He agreed that my idea might just work and this project was born. My plan is to also do the back half of the building a few years down the road. It will be used as a chapel for inside wedding ceremonies. It would be used for winter weddings and a backup for rainouts of the outdoor area. No need to reset the seating. Guest will be able to simply walk through the hallway to the side I am currently working on for the reception.
Here's a view from earlier today. Took some time do some flying with my son and his drone he got from Christmas. It was a cheap sub $200 promark drone but I was pretty surprised with the pics it took and features for the price. Auto land, return, gps, etc. Only downside is a 12 min flight time.
