The ring on the top inside of your bucket .... is that stock - or did you add it ?

I added the D-ring when I also welded on 3- 3/8" grade 70 chain hooks to the top side of the bucket. I used a piece of 1/2" x 3" steel between the top bucket reinforcements to weld the top hooks onto.
I then welded the D-ring onto the bucket right below that.

Numerous contractor friends have advised against using the chain hooks for heavy loading as a chain loads only one side of the hook. For that reason, I mounted the outer hooks in line with the loader/bucket frame, not on the outer edges of the bucket.
The bucket mounted D-ring loads both sides of the ring equally. As such, I prefer to use the D-ring for the heavy lifting.
