Tooth bar cost

Thanks. Great point on the side loading of the grab hooks .... I've managed to bend the top edge on my bucket slightly where the chain crossed while it picking up large logs .... just from the sheer weight. I'm going to weld a piece of 2" x 3" x 1/4" angle across the top to prevent it happening again.

When my dealer installed my bucket hooks he welded them onto a couple of pieces of 4" x 6" x 3/8" plate directly in line with the loader arms. Unfortunately he didn't use the type hooks that are designed to be welded on - so I'm going to replace those with a set of weldable 3/8" grab hooks from AW Direct. I might as well slap a D-Ring on there while I'm at it. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I'm glad to see your toothbar was painted orange. My friends think I have way too much time on my hands because I painted mine orange.

Being in CT. I live less than an hour from AW DIRECT'S Berlin warehouse. Heres the Model# & prices of what I used:

3/8" grade 70 weld on hook: #PAB3B @ $5.25 each
5/8" x 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" D-ring #DK4 @ $11.99 each, 6000lb W.L.
As I picked up the parts myself, I received a 5% discount.

If you have reinforced the top bucket area for the hooks, welding The D-ring directly under that area will give you the best results.

In my area, AW DIRECT is a good source for all those weld-on accesories, along with chain & binders for transport of your tractor. As you are aware, they also do mail and internet orders.

OK guys, visited another dealer.
Woods brand, $350 + tax, had one in stock for my bucket.
Out the door and installed it in a half hour.
Used a Greenlee HD chasis punch for the 3/4"
holes in the side of the bucket.

I ordered a pair of the hooks and a D-ring.

At the moment I have two reinforced areas for the hooks - but they don't span the center of the bucket. Part of this project will be to reinforce the top of the bucket by adding a 2" x 3" of 1/4 angle all the way across the top edge, which will form a box - I will probably stick a piece of 1/4" plate inside bucket, under that and then weld the D-Ring to it.

I purchased a 72 inch toothbar (bolt-on) non-replaceable teeth, unless you weld your own. From Markham Welding early this past spring for my LA 723 Front-End Loader for my L 3130 and it cost $272, plus $64 Fed-Ex freight charges.

I love it, just takes a few minutes to bolt on and off. I went to Markham Welding website and then called to finalize details. A wise investment! I can now carry cut logs easily without having to use the straps or chains also.

Markhams' web page says their tooth bars are for welded on cutting edge only. The Kubota HD buckets have bolt on cutting edge, therefore I suspect a higher price for toothbar.
Does anyone have a non-kubota tooth bar on a bolt on cutting edge?

Checked with kabuto dealer, 72" tooth bar with pinned teeth that will fit over the bolts on a HD bucket costs around $580. ONe that will fit on a welded cutting edge, no cutting edge bolts, costs about $300.
