Just over extend it and remove the cylinders and leave it attached at the rear. (see post #33).
Yeah you can leave the bed on for some things. But the raised bed will block the hyd sump drain at the rear, plus the suction filter. I am also jacking up and supporting the rear wheels off the ground.

Engine/trans removal will be from the rear, using tractor's loader and boom pole. The service manual suggests the mechanic remove engine and trans separately. It sure looks easier to me to remove both together.

BTW, my 3200 has 1000psi power steering. The hyd pump is driven by a pulley and belt, which also drives the cooling fan.

I haven't looked at the shared ownership one yet, to see what I will need to do to pull the engine and tranny. I was hoping to pull both together, as splitting it is just extra work and more pieces to have to tie down for transport to TN.
I need to get on with that, as it needs to be done before one or both of us make the trip to swap Toro's. (1.5 going to TN, 1 coming back to Jax)

After a year of not running, my Workman started right up. Runs smoothly and quietly.

I get the trans noise in 3rd gear only, in my testing, tho I am only using low range. I assume it will manifest in 6th, too. Anyway, I put the rear on jackstands and ran it at multiple speeds in 3rd. Very noisy. Loudest right under the TORO logo on the tranny. Super-loud when I rev the engine.

I posted 2 videos:

Yeah, that doesn't sound quite right!
What are your plans as far as tearing into it, or just replacing it?

I suspect this is the problem, and I will replace the plain bearing, if so. A sloppy bearing on this big gear, which transfers load to the jack shaft, will wobble a LOT.

This gear is from my spare tranny.

Now ready to pull the engine/trans together.

I just got the rear half-shaft disconnected. I had to lower the transmission to within a few inches of the ground to get enough clearance for the spline shaft to de-couple.

The manual suggests removing tranny from below, but I won't be doing that.

I need to get busy pulling the engine and tranny in the parts machine that I and a friend went in together on. It's that, or I will have to haul it to TN and let him have the engine and tranny plus any parts that he likes before he sends it back to me. I am really looking forward to getting the one he picked up for me in KY, which may require me making a trip sooner or later to TN.
I would love to find a source for carburetors in the style that was used on the 3 cylinder Mitsubishi engine

Yeah, I hear carb parts for the WC 3-cyl Mits engine are NLA.

I got the motor and tranny out today.

I have a carb kit sitting on the table right next to me. Now, it might not be the right kit, as I haven't opened it, but the guy who promised me he would rebuild mine told me what kit to buy. He has had good luck building those carburetors so far. He found a new rebuilt whole carburetor last year when the parts started showing up and bought it for less than $200 delivered. Now the prices have more than doubled due to demand and inflation. I think a whole carb is still available from Toro, for about $1500, which makes it kind of NLA!

Just pulled an Industrial Toro workman in the yard, carb issues. Got surprised with several nice options.
