Yeah you can leave the bed on for some things. But the raised bed will block the hyd sump drain at the rear, plus the suction filter. I am also jacking up and supporting the rear wheels off the ground.Just over extend it and remove the cylinders and leave it attached at the rear. (see post #33).
Engine/trans removal will be from the rear, using tractor's loader and boom pole. The service manual suggests the mechanic remove engine and trans separately. It sure looks easier to me to remove both together.
BTW, my 3200 has 1000psi power steering. The hyd pump is driven by a pulley and belt, which also drives the cooling fan.
