That is a really nice drawing set up. I wish I could upload some of my pictures but Im only thinking about a simplicity tractor i am getting on saturday. It hasnt run in a while so it will be my project tractor this winter. Its a 2wd model, either Allis chalmers or simplicity, around 18 HP and it has a diesel engine. Getting it for $300. It has R3 tires now and ive heard it was made by hinomoto. I looked it up on google which is under allischalmers 5015. No implements but the tractor looks like it has a front PTO with a belt pully and I also know the seller has a front snowblower. I know the guy since I helped my grandpa build a barn for him last summer. Durring lunch, I walked around his place and counted 28 lawn tractors, 3 SCUTs (one is the one im getting), 2 larger tractors, 2 forklifts, a bunch of tractor pulling sleds, and a pulling tractor. I was pretty impressed with all this but was more interested with the little one made by hinomoto outside. I want to document the rebuild on the site when i get it and plan to include pictures.

Thanks Tug, i think the table is 48" to 54" didn't think to get a tape when i was taking pic's. i don't think i'll ever use the drawing instruments, i have a nicer newer set. . . but i don't use those anymore ether.
you have a nice HEAVY looking table, i've never done it but you can have the top redone. if you go to a drafting or maybe a blueprint store they can point you in the right direction.

Fine old set of drawing instruments set in velvet and real old also. I have a set similar given to me years ago that I thought were old but not near as ancient as yours. The question: what do we do with these lovely old things we don't use?

Just curious,...what is the width of your table?

I have just spent time crawling over and under mine and I cannot locate a name plate of any sort, nor can I find any place where one has been removed. As far as I know its not "hot", but why is there no marking,...even on the mechanical drawing equipment, aside from the numbers etc, no name or serial etc,.....unless its on the bottom of the base plate feet??? Could be but I cannot get there without a "floor-jack" !!!

I'm going to attempt a photo. Two legs, one on each side with inverted T's on bottoms. A 2 bar treadle across the front at the floor to release the table for raising and tilting. The shiny silver cross piece between table and floor is the steel ballast weight, (probably 100 lbs?) between the legs. The curved hardwood pencil trough across table edge and an alluminum track across the top. My table measures 5 ft wide by 40 inches high.

I have not yet figured how to smooth out and secure the soft drawing pad to the table other than with tape? Other than dust, it seems in nice, smooth operating condition.

Well for pete sake! Trust ole Egon to come to the rescue!! Thank you very much Egon,..very kind!

I always wanted one and was ecstatic to get this one. Its great either sitting with table flat or slightly tilted or standing with it at the almost verticle. It just makes it so much fun to draw "anything" !!

You've hardly got over the excitement of getting that sweet little Yanmar,...and here you are adding to the stable already! You indicated doing a documented "rebuild" of this new one so I'm wondering what knowledge, experience or possibly some help you may anticipate?

Are you taking an "Auto-Shop" course at school or have you helped out in a shop for experience, . . or are you simply going to start dismantling and documenting and labelling the parts and pieces as you go? I hope you can get the manual for this tractor as it will be something invaluable as a guide!

I'm excited and happy for you and I certainly wish you all the very best of good luck with this and your other projects!!!! I will be interested to observe your step by step progress.

That table almost looks like it could be a predecessor design for the Hamilton and Mayline electric pedestal tables. Having the table top near vertical sure beats being hunched over a conventional drafting table. Of course one's tools like to fall on the floor; but that's a minor inconvenience.

Thanks for the confirmation on Brians table operation mjncad. Looks like a really nice and very handy outfit,..especially if you are spending long hours at the table and need change of position etc.

Further to my table: ...as you can imagine it is not easily moved around. I've been using it to stand before the vertical position and using the entire board for stainedglass window design. Therefore I had to "prybar" it back to the wall (for more space).

Tonight I hauled it out a bit and lowered the table and guess what? Up under the table at the top of the left leg,...I found the ID tag. Very small plate, just an inch by two and a half inches, but it is all that is necessary:

Don't know if that means anything to you guys, but it makes me very happy to have some ID and some history on this beautiful table of mine.

I'd leave it down at the almost horizontal level as it sits at the moment, but this room is small and for the time being it has to go back up against the wall so my "pedal-steel-guitar" can sit in front of it. BUT. I'm so glad I found the ID plate!!!
