Hi folks...gravelman here.. i have a 17" deckover trailer...was thinking of building/buying some type of lightweight sideboards..nothing tall , just something to contain loose items if i ever haul something like that... fire wood etc. I could probably make it out of wood, stakes with a rail. Just wondering if anyone has seen them for sale or has made them etc. thanks

Put together with flat U bolts can convert to any of the three forms.

Reads like you want stage 1.

Don't seem to have any photos of it together, but i built sides for my old trailer. Bolted stake pockets to the trailer and cobbled up some sides out of 2x, plywood & some brackets off Amazon. I was only hauling under a dozen loads of aged manure a mile or to on dirt roads at 15-20mph tops so I wasn't too worried about structural integrity beyond not falling apart on me right away.

"trailer stake brackets" should find you the brackets, latches & pockets on Amazon. A tailgate holds the sides together almost as much as keeping crap (in my case literally) from falling out the back.20161031_082657.jpg20161031_082712.jpg20161031_083245.jpg20161031_083235.jpg

Nice---Maybe get a length of vacuum line to place over the ubolt studs--Them will leave a mark.

Fallon, what type of trailer is that in your photo? I am looking to get one similar to transport my mini excavator and a few project cars.

I used a 2x12 on each side with 2x4s in the stake pockets on my 18' car hauler trailer. That works great for loose material and firewood, and they lift out easily if I need them gone.
