Trailer

   / Trailer #11
I agree on a 20'er with 2 -6k axles, but alot of the time if you are having the trailer built you can upgrade to 7k axles for a 2-300$. I'd get brakes on both axles, 2-5/16'' Bulldog coupler would be my choice, plus I would upgrade the jack to a single drop leg 10k jack, the 7 k is good, but the 10k is alot easier on user. Another thing to consider is tie down points, prolly the most important. The 20'er gives you room to grow as you are allowed 4' overhang in all 50 states legally. So if you add something to the rear, with the FEL you should be able position the tractor to pull good. Just remember tongue weight is good......squat the tow vehicle abit, if not the trailer will not want to follow. Ever pulled a trailer that would sway at highway speed- not enough tongue weight. What I mean by that is that the "tail will wag the dog". That is typically the biggest mistake I see, folks are scared to squat the tow vehicle- they want to hook the trailer up load the trailer and keep the tow vehicle at same height. Got to make the trailer follow the tow vehicle with tongue weight, if not it will sway.
