Just to emphasize Stray's last point, Loctite makes thread-LOCKERS and thread-SEALERS (plus a bunch of other stuff).
The 567 is a general purpose thread-SEALER with PTFE (teflon) in the paste. Teflon is not very soluble in much of anything, so it is suspended as fine particles. Particles in the hydraulic system is less bad than shreds of teflon tape.
Loctite makes hydraulic-specific threadsealers, too. The most widely used ones are: 542 545 and 569. These are particulate-free, so they virtually eliminate any chance of clogging of orifices, etc. I have found Fastenal {HERE} to be a good source for the less mainstream Loctite products, as well as a wide range of other shop goodies /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif They sell on-line, but they also have a lot of stores nationwide.
