All I know is that I bought a 2005 duramax diesel, then i traded it in for a 2006 duramax diesel. When I asked my dealer about the 2007 duramax diesels he said they were not expected until late 2007 possibly 2008. While I was getting my new truck serviced I was looking around the parking lot and saw some 2007 2500 duramax diesels. The sticker on the window said 2007 and it was a duramax. I asked about that and was told it was a 2007 classic which was basically a 2006 truck. same body style, same engine, transmission etc. I dont know what anyone else knows but I know what I saw and what my dealer tells me.

Man, dont take it personally... No one is saying your dumb, you obviously know about the heavy duty trucks.. I'm ASE certified too, I'm also a Senior Master Tech... Its got nothing to do with that.. Its the light duty emissions regulations of '07.. I just read the details on the Cummins V-6/8, linked in another thread here and it even states that things will be different after 1/1/07, not the '07 model year... Emissions is definitly "serious stuff" as you said erlier..

Kick, my comment was not directed at anyone. Its just a saying we always go by in the excavation business. Because there are always rumors about whats going on and some one always manages to do something that even though you saw it you still can't beleive it.

I just came from a 2 day Ford training school in Richmond. The class was actually on the CVT Transmission, but there was a 6.4 setting there. The instructor {who is very knowledgeable} basically informed us with the same info that HGM told everyone. HGM is telling everyone the correct info.

On another note I found interesting though, at least in our area and the Richmond VA area there is no USLD fuel to be found. Alot of dealers are raising a fuss because they have customers waiting on the new truck/engine combo, but no fuel to feed them. Alot of the fuel suppliers in the area {at least around Richmond} claim they have no interest in supplying the fuel. I don't anticipate a smooth new model launch at least in the above listed areas.

Another bit of info about the USLD fuel. The 6.0 fuel concerns have dropped dramatically with using the new fuel in testing. You 6.0 owners might see better reliability with the new fuel, at least with fuel related and turbo sticking concerns. Lets keep our fingers crossed.

So what are they selling? The refineries are only making on-road ULSD. The distributors and retailers will have to carry ULSD as their on-road (not dyed) fuel since they no longer have a choice. Also, the pumps must be marked as to what they are pumping.

There is no EPA dispensation for the Richmond area. Someone is blowing smoke here.

Thanks Donnie....

I believe part of this whole half model introduction thing and everyone dragging their heels on releasing the '07 emissioned vehicles is definitly fuel related.. Its hard to sell a truck you cant buy fuel for:eek: ...

Mad, I'm not sure about the Richmond area, but its still spuratic around here as far as what fuel you get when you pull up to the pump.. I drove to S. Fla the week before Thanksgiving and was only able to use ULSD for one tank.. The others were all LSD... All the dates I have heard were 9/06 for final compliance, but it seems like it may be the first of the year:confused: ... I hope they do get it straight because like Donnie said it will cause ALOT of trouble if these new trucks get released and the fuel isnt exclusively available...
