<edit> more testing

found a thread with imbeded images (not attached) happen to be this thread.
Need Advice On Wind power - TractorByNet.com
3/4 the way down the page, i click the thumbnail of the huge windmill. click the back button... returned to top of page.

i do NOT consider this to be a FF issue (the broswer im useing) as all other vbulletin forums i visit do not experience this problem.

Those links you provided are links to specific posts, not the link to the specific thread. If you visit another link then attempt to go back, it will take you to that specific post, not the thread.

Try this link, then scroll down to the post with the picture in it. Click on the picture, it opens. Click the back button and it goes right back to where you were.

Oh, I see. whenever there is a #post(number) attached to the end of the URL (as you get when you're taken to the newest unread post in a thread), the browser will take you to that post when you click back.

Technically, it's working the way it's been working since we installed vb. Other forums have different configuration setups that make this function work differently.

Mine does the same thing. It started after the maintenance was done on this forum. I don't have any issues with the other forums that I frequent. It only happens on a thread with new posts. When you click on a thread it opens to the first new unread post since my last visit. As I'm reading the new posts in that thread I come across one that has a picture. When I click to view the picture, it opens as normal, but when I click the back button it returns me to the first new post as when I originally opened the thread. So now I have to scroll back down and find the post I was on before viewing the picture.

A very easy work around is to right click on the picture and choose Open In New Tab. It is only one extra mouse click.

you must work in the IT industry.

Only an IT person suggests a workaround for a new problem created after a so called "update" was performed. "sorry about breaking what used to work just fine, hear just go through 3 or 4 extra steps instead, its really easy to do, that way we dont have to fix what we broke in the first place"

Where David works is irrelevant, however a simple viewing of his profile would have answered your question. David is simply trying to solve a problem for someone who joined TBN on Jul 26, 2006 and in your 15th post, on Aug 1, 2006, began complaining and has complained ever since because TBN doesn't work they way you think it should.

Yep. 21 years in IT. One of our goals is to get people back up and running as soon as possible while we solve problems regardless of who caused them. I hate to see people pound their head against the wall over and over and over and over and over and over..... when there is a pretty painless work around to use while the problem is being looked into. :p

Where did I say that's all you contribute 'hear'?

...complaints trying to make the usr experience better.
I must have been absent when you were elected to speak for all the other 51,014 TBN users. 'make the usr experience better'? Hardly. No, your complaints indicate there's only one way TBN ought to operate, your way. Whenever someone offers an alternative, you're not interested. TBN has to operate your way and you will complain about it until it does.
