yeah R4 are a good all around tire.My GC2400 uses R4 rears and R1 fronts. i have R1s for the rear but they do a number on lawns when driving around a house to till a garden.

We got about 8" of snow yesterday and last night (wet heavy like concrete).

3rd time plowing this winter season, only about 50% of normal snowfall this season.

Doesn't look like I'll be switching to the snowblower for the remaining season.

The GC has almost 800 hours for 15 years, equals to about 32 hours a year.

Photo is late this afternoon just before plowing.

warm weather, some rain, etc...led to 2+ inch thick icy skating rink for driveway as good portion gets very little sun.
put the box scraper on, tilted for VERY aggressive bite, roughed up 85 by 25 foot area. smoked a few cigars and drank some coffee.

Thought I was going to have to get out the GC today to move snow. Not getting much but the wind is blowing and figured I'd have a drift in the middle as usual.

But the wind is blowing in the very rare direction that causes it to blow all the snow out of my driveway instead of into it.

It has now been 24 days since the last time I started it up.

Been a while for me, too. Had it about ready to go yesterday AM, then decided it was little enough snow that I used my 3' garage-floor squeegee to push the snow off to the side. Works well (driveway's paved), only takes about 1/2 hr to hit the whole driveway. As soon as the sun began to come out, everything sublimated off. Tractor still sitting. We'll see what tonight's Clipper System brings....

We had 6" and it looked like it was going to melt/ice so I cleared the road and driveways.
Thick heavy stuff.

Yeah, it looks like the clipper on friday will end my vacation from moving snow. 26 or 27 days without starting the tractor in the winter is surprising.

So far this year I've used less than 5 gallons of fuel which means the tractor has not run more that 10 hours all winter. But that's okay by me. I have it to move snow but I'd prefer not to run it. It's no different than the 500# of salt I had delivered last fall that I have not used. I'll use it eventually, if not this year then next. One thing I can count on is that sooner or later I will need both the tractor and the salt.

Yep, mine's warming up now; we got just enough (about 2-1/2") to justify using the tractor/blower. Should only take about 1/2 hr to get everything cleaned up. It's been a light year for snow in the CT River Valley of NH -- I don't think we have more than 6" on the ground at the moment.

Well, I guess I spoke too soon! Another "shower" came by and quickly dropped another 2"+. Folks are saying the roads are messy; apparently a roll-over on Rte 4 not far from here....

MAYBE gonna be 1-1/2 inches here. I'll just look at it and regret putting blower on wednesday. can't use anyway knee surgery (went very well just down a day or so) thursday so just taking it easy. if we do get dumped on neighbor with plow gonna handle my yards.

Tuesday's photo of the driveway 6" new snowfall and 4th time plowing this season.

Plowing for the 5th time this season with another 6" of snowfall this morning.

It's 1F on the back deck right now and it's forcasting for -15F tonight, guess that little rodent was wrong this year again.

More snow for this weekend, good we still need a lot more for a normal season.

Vacation over after 26 days. Just came in from moving what they say was 8". Hard to tell with the drifting. Expecting more tomorrow.

We are 50" behind here, I hope we don't catch up,.

My tractor hasn't been started, since I put the plow on it last October.

We got 4" once. I don't plow the first 4" to keep from moving the gravel. That snow melted in two days.

Last night, we got 2". Also expected to melt soon.

Would rather not put up all that snow fence, and put the plow on, for one or two storms. But, you know what happens if I don't.

I have snow fence permanently up. The type that is metal wire and lath slats. I don't want to put it up and take it down and the plastic stuff just gets ripped up in the wind I get. Found the perfect place to put it and there it is. Neighbors don't like it, but f them unless they want to help me take it down and put it back up 3 3 months later.

Here's a photo of the driveway this morning.

It's -7°F on the back deck now, and very slightly warming up this morning.

No sign of driveway ice melting.

Oliver (563) and Elie (2310)haven't started since I think October.
Arnie (563) hasn't run in 2-3 weeks.
Not enough snow.
I might start them this afternoon just to warm them up and move them so the tires don't flat spot too much.
