In regards to CaseKub3 comments, I'm familiar with his dealership and I must be one of those undesirable customers he speaks of, his comments mirror my experience I had there, we don't need your business attitude was obvious.

by the way, they didn't get my business, one of the other dealers called a couple of hours ago. Get my new to me (used B2400) bota tomorrow.

I'd be real particular that the fluids are at the proper level and that the FEL is installed properly. Any significant scratch or dent that must have been caused by shoddy handling should be unacceptable, but the finish does not have to equal a new car.

I didn't get a hat so I made an offhanded comment to the parts man when I was buying my 50 hour supplies, in the presence of the owner of the dealership. I got my hat at no charge.

If looks like the dealer doesn't care about me as a customer I will complain, otherwise I can tolerate minor mistakes. After all, I made one back in '73 myself. Of course I was perfect before and since /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif.

Trying to get at the real problems expressed in your post was like trying to separate fly [censored] from pepper. From what I see you were upset with the following:

1. "Young Yard Hand"
2. "No Stickers"
3. "Extra Fluid" (Free or not)
4. "Touch up paint"
5. "Towel to wipe dipstick"

Kinda looks trivial when you get to the meat of the problem. You don't have to come on like gangbusters with a dealer or anyone else in the service industry to get your point across as to how you would like the product that you purchased to be delivered. I think that a simple conversation with the dealer prior to delivery would have cleared up any confusion.
You readily admit that the "Dealer did right by me afterwards" so don't you feel a little silly for being so hostile prior to his "Doing Right".
Good Dealer....Bad Dealer....Good Customer....Bad Customer...it makes no difference. If you start off the discussion of the problem with a lot of ranting and raving and name calling, the resolution of it will elude you.
Good luck with your new tractor and I hope you have as much luck with it as I have had with mine.

Exactly. Why wouldn't/couldn't the dealer address these problems if they were so trivial. I think that's what makes it all that more frustrating to someone who's just coughed up 15K+ for a new machine. It would make it seem (and I stress seem) like the dealer just doesn't care. However, I can relate to what CaseKub3 writes, satisfying everyone all of the time is not going to happen. I wish I had it as good though. In my job, my customers are internal to my company and I can't turn them away. Bite down, smile politely and give them what they want or you're out on your a__. Don't get me wrong, I love what I do and these situations are fairly rare.
As for the ranting and raving, I took that as more of a light-hearted way to get a message across to potential buyers.

And Rogue, way to stick to your guns. Anyone who can hold there own in a debate as well as you, right or wrong deserves respect./w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif

I promised myself that I would abandon this post. It just seems like it won't die. As for the problems, I said all along that it was the lack of respect for my property that dissapointed me so. The "chaining" of the tractor to the trailer did the most damage. My only issue with the young yard hand was that he had no experience and knowledge of the product. It dumbfounds me that some would turn that in to a insult to young people (and then peacock over how succsesfull they are at 29.) Nearly killed me to let that one go to this point.
I ranted a bit on the site (in as humorous a manner as possible) to illustrate the cluster#$%k that occured with my delivery. I admit that if read in the wrong mood by the wrong people, it would be interpereted differently.
Oh well...
Thanks for the reinforcement.
Now dang nab it. Back to the tractors.
