What not to feed a woodchipper

My roasts make little visible smoke to begin with and if it's gonna be a smoker, I do it after sunset. Again, around here it's all about common sense and discretion. Guess out your way, local governments feel their citizens haven't the maturity to use discretion.

Presently, I'm waiting for a rain event myself. Looks promising but no cigar this morning.

It’s more the population hyper sensitive to fire…

The farm is in a valley with thousands of acres of parkland on one side and multimillion dollar homes with vineyards on the other and the only thoroughfare runs along farm property.

City dwellers come out to enjoy the park and from the park staging area see the burn piles…

No accelerant is to be used…

All government agencies found full compliance but that is separate from a motorists or park visitor with a cell phone calling 911 reporting fire…

What not to feed a wood chipper...
My first 5" BearCat chipper/shredder had an optional "wet" screen, for shredding green vines. It had oblong holes about 1.5" wide x 8" long.

I tried it one fall after the garden was finished. I put all my tomato and pepper plants through it. They were chopped up good enough but they were a bear Cat getting stuffed down the top and into the shredder. I had to use a short 1"x2" scrap wood to push them in.

When done, the machine was dripping green goo. I hosed it off but a few days later it began to stink. I took the "wet screen" out, washed the machine for the 2nd time and never used that screen again.

Don't recommend sending the steel wire rope winch line through either ! Totaled a Brush Bandit that way. Sure made some impressive sounds when it sent the steel hook through the side of the shoot.
