What shear bolt grade would you recommend?

Gary you may be right. Although the shear bolt is a 1/2'', the manual say's "This shear bolt is designed to protect the machine from overloading." I just wasn't to sure if machine meant tractor or implement.

Tx Jenkinsph! I will carry a pocket full of grade 2 and 5, and go from there.

i always keep a box of bolts and nuts and a poke and beating tool in my tractor tool box if I'm using something that feeds on shear bolts.
