Where to buy unusual size U-bolt?

Probably an easy answer? I'm just looking for a 3" wide U-bolt for attaching stuff to my ROPS. (Kioti DK45) Up until now I've used hose clamps to attach fire extinguisher and lights, but I'd like to build a sun shade out of fiberglass and plywood, and attach it with U-bolts. Reasonable? Local hardware stores don't have 3" wide. Any online outlets that you use? Thanks.

Yes. ... Be sure to grind off the threads in the area of the bend. Otherwise you risk cracking in the stress riser at the root of each thread.

Instead of using plywood for your canopy you might consider something like 'divinycell'...it is a closed cell PVC foam that when laminated/encapsulated with fiberglass it is as strong as plywood and weighs about 95% less...I'm currently fabricating one myself...

A real good spring shop or 4x4 shop can make their own. But I agree with Lou, get some all thread and make your own.

My 1999 F250 Super Duty 4x4 uses 3" wide leaf springs/ubolts - just got new ones for the rear springs a couple of months ago. The rear bolts have the rounded U and the front springs use the squared U - take your pick and order appropriately.

If you want it to look better get some rod and and thread the ends and bend or you could use bolts and a piece of flat steel say 1 1/2 in wide and put two holes in it.

Three inch is a common size and should be widely available. Try the already mentioned places or a spring shop will likely have them made and on hand. If you make it as far as a spring shop don't be concerned. Most any I have ever seen look like a throwback to the middle 1800's.

You could check an auto parts store. 3" is a common exhaust pipe size.
