Why is green paint so expensive?

The comparison I'm doing right now is between the NH TT60A (47 hp at the PTO) and the JD 5203 (48.1 hp at the PTO). Both are similar in weight and have the same lifting capacity. In my area (west of Houston, TX), the prices I'm getting for these two tractors, with a 72" bucket, is "too close to call". Any suggestions on which one would be the better tractor? They look pretty close to me. Thanks.

Basic economics, as long as consumers continue to buy and pay the price their is no incentive for them to lower prices. The others can actually increase to a point where sales no longer grow at an acceptable rate or begin to fall.

Personally, the attitudes at local Deere dealers turned me off to them.

Absolutely; the better tractor is the one that you prefer. Down deep inside it is somewhat likely that you prefer one slightly over the other. Since price isn't really playing a factor, pick the one that just feels right to you.

Happy Holidays!!

Or whichever feels better to his wife...

I remember when i bought my NH 7610s... I was really going after a ford 5000 down the road.. ( half the price too! ).. after looking at both, the wife 'made the case' for the 7610... and she was in one of those moods where she wouldn't settle 'to just disagree'.. thus we compromised.. and got the 7610... ( grin ).

You can't ask for better advice than that!! I'm getting kinda tired of this thread. It depresses me. Can't we all just get along?

I wouldn't turn my hand over for the difference in either unit. They are both fine tractors and would do a great job. I would go with the one I liked best, pure and simple. You're not gonna go wrong with either unit.

Um, I just bought a JD 5425. And, I most certainly compared prices with a Kubota M8540. When equipped as close as possible, the difference was about $1200. I'm not saying you're lying, but look at the picture attached for your proof. You picked the wrong two tractors on that comparison to try to prove me wrong. I have way too many hours comparing the exact tractors you mentioned. Sorry, the difference is $1200. I ought to know, I wrote the check. ;) And, just in case you think I don't like Kubota, note the L5030HSTC I also have.

Nothing personal, but I don't think I need to go over any further nonsense. I wasn't going to bring up specifics accurate as of two weeks ago, but someone else did for me now. Anyone is free to believe what they want. I'll just opt to believe what I know; what I wrote a check for. Over and out. :)

Oh, what was that you were saying Gemini??

ok so where you looked at tractors and when you looked at tractors there was a small difference. I dont know the particular circumstances of what you bought and what someone else was looking at. However maybe you are just a better negotiator with John Deere than the rest of us. or maybe you have bought enough equipment from them that you get a super duper discount. I dont know. All I know for sure is the prices and the reasons why that I quoted in my post.

This thread needs more action why are we limiting it to just tractors. My duramax pickup is twice as good a truck as a ford and three times better than a dodge.
