Your towing rigs and trailers

A contractor working on a Hospital project has a 2014 Super Duty F350 and is really impressed with it's towing ability... he has a special built tag trailer rated at 18k and will tow anything from multiple scissor lifts to mini excavators.

One of the guys that works for him spun the rear truck tires on dry pavement because he didn't realize the power is has when leaving from a stop light near the shop... the regular Diesel he drives takes putting your foot into it to get everything moving...

Several of the guys have 2006 F250 Diesels and are very pleased with them... for what it is worth.

The modern pu diesels run 800+ ft/lbs Tq. Of those, I've driven the 6.7L.

BIG Fun :D

I've been around lots of Power Strokes, especially 6 Liters, and that's the first one I have seen with them mirrors.

All I have seen and owned had the telescoping towing mirrors.

Yea I need telescoping mirrors bad I only leave these because it fits in my garage without folding mirrors every time I pull in. I bought the truck used with 10k miles on it and not sure if they were factory or change out to fit in the prior owners garage

Those are factory mirrors.

Yes but most of the XL gas trucks had the small mirrors and diesels towing mirriors

Strangely my dad owns an 07 gmc crew cab dually that doesn't have towing mirrors. It has the standard small mirrors on rails so you can extend them 6" out, but they are completely useless. He bought it new that way, it was just a base model truck.

Almost all the Dodge 3/4 tons had the tow mirrors but that's because they almost all had the tow package installed at the factory. You see a few of them without them and they don't have the tow package. Why they would build a 3/4 ton without a tow package I don't know but they did.

Mine has the factory towing package that's the thing that makes me think they we changed out. Truck has 410 limited slip with factory overload springs. I just ordered a set of towing mirrors I need them bad and $115 for two new mirrors is a good price shipped

$115 for two new mirrors is very good. It's hard to say why they build a few like they do but all the brands have some combinations that make you scratch your head and go "huh".

Here is an evil mix of orange and green, towed by a 2010 F150 Supercrew with a 5.4 litre V8. The trailer is an 18 ft., 7,000 lb. beast with beavertail and ramps that slide in to their own pockets.

BTW, I love the F150 so much I want to buy a new 2014! Anybody want to buy a gently usedIMG_5018.jpg F150?

Just bought this enclosed 20' Continental Cargo trailer last Fri. Already stuffing it to move some of my items . The guy I bought it from had small race cars he would haul one at a time to various places . My L3400 DT fits in perfectly. It has 6 5000 pound d rings. It also came with a Reese neck/ball, weight dist set up and sway control locks, etc and many other items he threw in to sweeten the deal. 20 X 8.5

The other is my 2014 Heartland 26RLSS TT. Ford 2011 f250 6.7 close to 80,000 miles no trouble to report (so far).

Nice looking setup! Is that a 24 valve?

Yessir, it's a HO 24v motor with a NV5600 6-spd manual trans behind it. 50HP injectors and a Quadzilla programmer that I made a pretty good tow tune in. At 28psi under 80% throttle the EGTs are under 1400, and the front of the truck starts to flex from the torque.

Nice combo.

Not everybody worries about these things, but you might want to consider photoshopping your license plate out of that picture...... pictures of clean pickups with hot diesel motors AND a stick trani can attract the kind of attention that you don't want....
