Your towing rigs and trailers

I got a nice load of free Maple from someone who dosen't heat with wood. There's another load that I will get next weekend. It's been down over a year so it will be good this year. View attachment 665961

My experience with hardwood logs is that they don't dry very well in log form. I recently cut (on my Woodmizer) some walnut and some oak, large logs, that have each been down for over 3 years. Surprisingly wet still.

^ yeah maybe if had already been cut and split. Left in long logs.... it'll still be wet inside. Get it cut and split ASAP if you need it this winter.

They are fairly dry judging by what they weigh. I have an old fiberglass greenhouse. I store my wood in there. I will get it split and in there. I still have a couple hot months. I open the top vents a little so air flows out the top. No rain on it. It gets over 100 degrees on warm sunny days. It will be good to go soon.

They look like the same kind as semi trailers have. They don't have much travel. And no they don't go high enough. I was out a while due to a hand injury. The guy who ran my route bent the right leg on my assigned trailer. Crossing track he should have known were too high. There is another entrance to the rail yard 100 feet away that is much better. Now they are hard to crank. I want to kick him down like a redheaded stepchild every time I hook or unhook.

They are the same. Overkill is nice, but I'd rather have the kind with the 5 holes that slide up and down with spring loaded pin. Now I have to carry one more thing-blocks. I just hope fully loaded they will be high enough to get in and out of some of these rough hay fields. Should be ok, but I'd rather not add stress to hauling hay bales-theres enough of it even when everything goes just right.

2015 2500 Ram Laramie 4X4 6.4L with rear air suspension and 25' Sure Trac trailer. Taking the Kioti DK45 in for service. IMG_2879[1].JPG

Those green straps are only to keep the bucket from bouncing. Tractor is secured with 3/8" American made chain and Durabilt ratcheting binders. This has been a good trailer once I replaced the cheap tires (4 blowouts over several trips) with Carlisle Radial Trail HD's. Even though these are also made in China they seem to get good reviews and no complaints from me.

Looks like bucket straightening should be added to the service work order.

My 2017 Ram 2500 4x4 with 6.4L gets used as a truck quite a bit:

Nice. I enjoy exercising mine. You put yours through it's paces. What was the plan with all of the salt ? Weed control? Lol

Just being the mule to haul the salt for a high school sports fundraiser. The kids sell salt in the community to make money for their sports teams. Being a parent with equipment I volunteered to drive around while they delivered it.
