Thanks for all the helpful info on my post about the weight and towing of the 24. I reconsidered, though, and now I've got a BX25 coming this Tuesday. I had gotten two different prices locally of 17,500 and 17,250, so I decided to get a 24 from out of state in PA...15,400 with the tires I wanted.

Just for the hill of it I then called Buffalo Tractor and they had the 25 for 15,900. Yeah, we have 8% sales tax here, but I felt a bit more comfortable dealing with someone 50 miles away instead of 250. No charge for the delivery either, so I don't have to worry about towing it home. I also don't mind payng a bit extra for the few improvements in the 25.

So it looks like I'll be spending some time around this place. It's the best site I've found. Very informative and entertaining, too.

And I'll be sure to post some pix in a few days!

Congrats,
Just so you start off on the right foot. Make sure you take pictures. Us BX24 owners love seeing new BX25s. Ahhh, to dream. Actually I'm very happy with my BX. It has done more than I had dreamed of.

You will be very happy I am sure. For only a $500 difference it is likely worth avoiding the abrupt stop.
You should have been able to find the 24 for $15K even which seems to be a readily available price. Also make sure they are including the 3 pt hitch in your price for the 25. It could run you an extra $250 I believe if they did not include it.

From everything I've read I would have been just as happy with the 24, but there are very few left around here and the dealers want almost as much as the 25.

The 3PH is extra, no way around that one. the only thing I need it for now is to pull a little firewood trailer around the property, and I may try to rig a ball right on to the backhoe, like KeithInSpace did:

Ok, please update me. Im been to much in my workshop building stuff for my BX24;) so I have lost the info about the realise of the new BX25.
Is it similar to the BX24? Backhoe and FEL?
Thanks:eek:

Along the update lines - - can anyone sumarize the modifications [improvements?] from the BX22 - up through the BX25? I'm still pretty happy with my 22, & no extra charge for the 3ph.

Changes from BX24 to BX25:
Hard reverse stop corrected
Hood and fenders changed from plastic to metal
3 pt hitch is now an extra cost option
Hydraulic pump will now move loader at idle (Slowly)

BH, Loader, engine, drivetrain remain the same.

Any I've missed?

Just that the price went up along with the changes. Seems to be about $1000 - $1500 more w/ 3pt hitch difference between the 24 and 25.

All of the above problems did not exist on the BX22/23.

Guess I'll know exactly what I've got soon, as it's being delivered within the next couple hours.

Thought I'd videotape the unloading and operating run through, if the sales guy is cool with that. Whatever he explains to me, chances are I'll forget half of it by tomorrow.

Its really pretty simple to pick up. Just read the operator manual though. Things like stopping before you engage the differential lock are useful to know.

Yes, the transmission is supposed to make that whine sound.

Check your front axle fluid in about 15 hrs as it seems to settle and end up low. I would check all fluids before first use but they should be topped off by the dealer.

Ha, guess that's why they introduced the BX24, so they could add some bugs which could then be remedied (at a higher cost) in the BX25.:D

Well, no version is perfect....

The BX 23 seems to have had a few issues that I came across on a very quick search....
- Fender issue
-HST pedal sticky

Improvements with the BX24 were....
Curved FEL and BH angle of relief
More BH legroom
Protected Hoses inside the boom
cruise control
higher 3 pt hitch lift.

Thats what I came across on a quick search...
