truck plow to tractor plow

Man, this thing power angles in a split second.

Any way to slow it down a little? If you're not careful, it's up against the bump stop in about 1-2 seconds.

Yup, mine does the exact same thing, must be inherent to these truck plow hydraulics, I found out they do have flow restrictors, some are adjustable and some are as simple as a disc with a small hole in it fit somewhere between fittings. You only need it in one line on an opposing SA cylinder set up like yours/mine.

Mine seemed fast at low rpm's, it's wicked fast at 2200+ rpms. I got use to it already and didn't do any restriction, my valve handle has a pretty stiff spring resistance so it's easy to feather it.
Makes it easy to clean the snow off the plow by giving it a quick shake back and forth. I try to not slam it but it does happen, I think I could do a slap shot with mine.

What size is the hose? Some 1/4" hose would slow it down I think?

I got my first chance to use the plow today. We got a whopping 4" of snow.

Took me a little getting used to the "segmented" feel of the plow on the QA plate instead of on the front end of a truck. You can raise the plow some by doing the bucket curl function or a lot with the loader raise function.

Gotta watch you don't dig the bottom of the loader arms into the pavement. I can see that as one disadvantage so far.

Other than that, it's a breeze. I feel kinda funny in such a small piece of equipment after some of the big time snow removal I used to do.

Oh and it only took a few minutes to get used to the speed of the power angling. Now I like it.

Let's see....Limerick is about 40 miles, my Challenger top speed is about 18MPH. Be there in about 2.25 hours.....

Gotta watch you don't dig the bottom of the loader arms into the pavement. I can see that as one disadvantage so far.

Just a suggestion, Since you can't float the loader with the chain set up. Start with the bottom of the loader a safe distance off the ground 6-8 inches then with the plate rolled forward like it is in the pictures or more, leave enough slack in the chain so the plow can float down as much as possible for dips etc. then as long as there's not to much slack you will be able to raise and lower the plow with just the curl and not the loader lift. so you don't have to keep trying to get the loader back to just the right height.

Or maybe some kind of stops to prevent the loader from dropping to far.

Another thought from looking at the pics, you could utilize that receiver tube to make the plow fixed in one position with the plate, via a rigid connection to the A-frame (removable at the receiver) plow would be 3 point connection instead of 2, then you could just throw the loader into float position and not worry about anything but the cutting blade hitting the ground.

We have been getting alot of 4-6" snows, just had the 2nd one in 24 hrs, they start to add up, my piles are getting about as big as they get for later in the winter, gonna have to start loading them off into the woods. a power angle plow makes quick work of those nuisance snows though.

some of the truck-to-tractor plow conversions I have seen have had skid shoes on the mounting bracket to keep the loader arms off the ground.

You can buy 3/8 and 1/2 restrictors at TSC. Very cheap only need one. I used them on my truck to tractor plow. Also used one on my 3 pt hydraulic tilt cylinder.

Yes, I realized that after an hour or so and adjusted the plow this way. You really have to watch when you drive through a "dip" in the pavement.

I have been thinking the same thing. I would take some 2" tube and fab-up a way to connect it to the plow frame.
