Mech....FWIW....I made a gauge and put it on mine when installing one pack of shims. I only got 2300 lbs after adding the pack (of 4) ...and wished I had bought another pack to kick it up a bit more (the pack only costs $4). I'm just going to run it as is for now....but will consider more shims if it seems lacking. So far it picks up everything I've needed just fine. :)

I only put one pack in mine. I think I now have about 800lbs on my 3pt (BB + my toothbar + 6 42lb suitcase weights) and it's lifting just fine and my BB now does an incredible job.

I went a little overboard aand put a full pack plus two shims from another. Ended up with 2900 psi.Must say that I am really hapy now. Thinkin bout toning it down a bit but have not had any problems so far. Probably ten hours in so far and have put it to the test. And who says a little 790 Can't pull a 7 foot disc

I'm not going to say your wrong with that much pressure....but over enough time that could be pretty hard on seals, hoses, pumps and the sort. If it were me....I would reduce the pressure before it costs $$$.
Just my .02 worth.

Coarse...now I just read your profile...and it sez your a diesel mechanic....so....who am I to say??? But....do your repairs hold up??? (LOL)

Nice on the disc....have you pulled it very much? What gear? Much penetration?

Nice one foggy. Kinda one of those things where you know your wrong but do it anyway. I'm done moving pallets of wood around now so I will probably get rid of the extra twp shims.Always been one to test the limits. I just got the disc from my grandparents old farm in Gettysburg. No one was using it so I decided to fix it up and give it a go. Sandblasted it, replaced all the bolts and primed it. Gonna paint it green I think. But no serious time with it yet. That was just uneven yard I was pulin it thriugh. Did it in second gear high range though, nice job. Got a ferguson two bottom with it too,not sure how she'll take that though
