Thx, Bob. The front panels are all about 1/8" thick plastic (ABS?) with
color all the way thru. No paint. Most of mine were gone. I have $1000
in these new parts.
The rear fenders are painted green over a 3/8" thick black plastic. They
are scratched up, but not broken. I may do some touchup painting of
the gouges....we will see. I imagine these fenders must be several
hundred $ each.
I probbably should not admit this, but I will... I've used the dupont polishing compounds on mine with a commercial polisher, just like you would with a clear coat after you wet sand it. The shine came right back on mine and the compound did not stick to the plastic. I did keep it moving though so it would not get warm.
I went to look at some of the rental 4300s yesterday. I was wondering
why the mounting position of my floor pan keeps my GO pedals from
completely articulating. It sure seems that the pan needs another 1/2"
or so of height off the mounting points...at least on the right side.
Well, look at this: it looks like another rental tractor option from JD.
Under-floor armor to protect the hyd hardlines. My tractor has endured
some impacts there.
BTW, this tractor has 2709 hours on it!
JD did in fact have a "rental upgrade kit" for those machines...
Yes, we talked about it when I posted pix of the hood armor. I wonder:
does one rental upgrade option include all the bits and pieces? In addition
to the hood armor, I discovered some rental options to the range
shifter mechanism. There are probably others.
The under-floor armor looks very desirable.
