If I was plowing commercially then I would agree but since its only going to be for maybe 5 houses every snow fall and the occasional job site where we are working the 250 would be fine. Were in an area that is basically protected from the severe snows and only get a couple real heavy snows each year and the rest is just light snows of a couple inches.
F-350 SRW is the best keep secret out there. You can go from 10,000# GVWR to 11,500# GVWR for only $600. That is pennies when you are talking about a $40,000 truck. You get more payload, larger wheels for more ground clearance, and the ability to handle more pin/tongue weight. I can not tell you how many times I see people putting larger springs or air bags trying to make a 3/4 ton into a 1 ton.
