Why you should change your oil

There is always a better way on doing and saying thing the then cold hard truth.

I think its was you that we got into about a month ago, I am not going to that again. Some people can grow, some can not and some people just do want to. Where do you stand?

I don't recall off hand, a particular post you might be talking about? If you want to link to it, I'd refresh my memory.

You are apparently not on my ignore list.. so whatever it was.. if it was, it couldn't have been too annoying.

As for where do I stand?

truth is truth. candy coating is for those that can't handle reality.

i'd rather someone tell me something to my face than lie to me / talk behind my back.

so i guess you can put me down on the cold side.. however. I also know that circumstances DO change, time changes, etc. so what may have been an issue at one time may not always be an issue.. or may be a different issue next time. So you can put me down for open to change and growth.

plenty of seats on the fence.. etc..

Thats just it, it is ok to have an opinion, even a strong opinion. Chris will state his opinion and try to pass it off as a completely objective fact. All GM's will always be the worst machine to ever be assembled to him because that has been his experience. He will also completely ignore the fact that any Ford has ever had a problem especially any 6.0. He has pretty much made his own bed when it comes to credibility. It doesnt take long hanging out here to establish what that credibility is if you have any critical thinking skills at all. He will swear up and down that he has never had a problem with XXXXX brand of equipment (usually FORD) and then it comes out in other threads subltly when he chimes in that he has done this repair or that repair. This happens most often in this forum with the infamous indestructable FORD but happens alot in the chinese tractor forum too. I'm not saying that he isnt knowledgable and doesnt have good things to offer. What I am saying is the objectivity that he thinks he has is far from reality. To say that he isnt a GM basher and have the avatar that he does speaks volumes to his credibility on the subject. :2cents:

Long story short I buy what I feel is the best at the time. I am sure all you do too. If its been a pos I will fess up that I bought a pos. If its been good to me I will tell you.
Funny thing is since I have last purchased a Ford I have bought four vehicle's. A Nissan, BMW, Saturn, and a Honda. I am the least one brand guy out there.

I agree...I'm a GM guy, always have been due to my experience and the longevity that I've experienced...That being said, I dont continually bash the brands that I don't favor....We've all had good and bad luck..Every brand lays an egg from time to time.

Chis does stretch credulity with the "neighbor's-cousin's neer-do-well co-worker's brother inlaw experienced xyz with a GM" stuff...I have plenty of ammo on other brands but why state it unless it's relevant to the conversation...And tread lightly at that.

He does have alot of towing knowledge...However some of the stories I have a tough time buying including some of the logistics that started this thread...I'll just keep that to myself as it would add nothing.

I DRIVE ( don't own ) a 04 f250 6.0psd. It has a rip in one of the seats.. and um..not anything much more major than that. had a leaky oil filter oring issue once... um.. maybbe have put some front end stuff on it?

Used to have a dodge 1500 98 5.9g, sold it when I got the 350.. wish I would have kept it and got rid of the yukon.. everything ont he dodge still worked.. :) and it had a pop up gn hitch.. :)

I have to admit this thread has taken a bizarre turn. Been following it since the start with interest... saw Chris' response to the dispensable Ford comment and thought it was a throwaway, lighthearted response... a quick jab back at the original jabber, and done in good humor. Now 2 pages of what seem to me to be unsolicited and unwarranted harrasment, starting with the accusation he is being petulant to a helpful BIL. I don't get it. Maybe I'm too new to the forum and don't have enough history, or maybe I'm just too thick-skinned to be offended when someone pokes fun at my tractor color or truck badge, but Chris' contributions are ones (among a good number of other regulars) that I'll intentionally read as he strikes me as helpful. I just don't see anything worthy of reporting, though some of the recent additions to this thread seem to have no purpose other than picking on a poster. What am I missing?

Lots of people with negative agendas are helpful. Maybe he feels like if he is really "helpful" he can get away with frequent negative GM commentary i.e: put up with the bad because I give so much good?????

There's a guy in my town thats an excellent mechanic, but if you show up with a Ford, he'll rip you a new one for "making such a dumb purchase". We all know he's full of it, but it's HIS SHOP and he can say what he wants. This forum is NOT his personal forum where other members must endure lots of negative GM rhetoric for his "helpfullness". No, there's rules posted above about that sort of behavior.

So just because a guy is helpful, doesn't mean he gets a free pass to rip everyone with a GM product over & over.

I just sold my last Ford 6L. Thank the Lord its gone. Took a bath on it. I still would consider buying another Ford and still drive one right now. I wouldn't come here and make comments like "Ford guys don't get out much" just to make myself feel better that I got a bad Ford. That's just making other good people feel bad about themselves to make onesself feel better.

Come on people. This has been going on fo a while from what I heard. I don't want to see anyone get thrown off, but can we just call a spade a spade here and admit there's a (1)helpful member who has (2)a on-going negative GM, Dodge, BMW, and maybe other brands I forgot agenda?
While we're at it can we agree that going negative on brands here on many, many posts is against forum rules?
I didn't go to the moderator and complain. I know complaining about brand bashing to them is frowned upon, so I didn't do it.....even if it's against the rules....lol
