I have an L45 and the only trick I found to the auto throttle is to use the hand throttle to set a "minimum" rpm that gets the loader moving at a good rate. Then let the auto throttle take over from there as the ground speed increases.

My L45 is a chore to switch ranges on also. 2/4WD is changed easily pushing the clutch in and moving the lever while rolling slow. Luckily I rarely change range. M seems to work well for me. Full loaded climbing my pretty steep driveway I just touch the little orange stick down to "Turtle".

Sounds like you've got a real sweet spot on the backside of the Santa Cruz mountains.

I like to take visitors to Ben Lomond and Big Basin when they want Redwoods.

These tractors are amazing at what they can accomplish.

I was looking at the M59 and then found a deal too good to pass on a Deere 110.

Still glad a I kept my little BX because it is just so versatile in getting into tight places.

Next time I'm going over the mountain I will be sure and think of you...

At the time I was born my folks owned a few acres of orchard in Monte Sereno... we would have been neighbors it they had not moved to the Oakland Hills.

I have not yet, I suspect it's sort of a so-so thing because I believe I have to run the tractor full throttle to get 16GPM which is at the low end of what it wants.

I will try it, got busy with the road clean up (and coaching hockey for 3 teams and somewhere I have a job...)

Has anyone heard from rscotty (aka Roger L)?

He was in the midst of the Colorado floods, I talked to him at one point and then nothing.

I'd like to know he is OK.

A question about shifting L/M/H - mine is really hard to shift. The B21 is similar if you have "weight" on the gears then it's hard to shift but I've learned that I can goose it, let the tractor coast while the clutch is in, and shift. Same thing for shifting from 2WD to 4WD. Does the M59 have a similar trick? That trick didn't really work for the M59. Is shifting just hard? That would be a bummer because where I live shifting is needed, there are stretches where you want to go fast (H) and then you want to do some work so M/L are what you want. I'd like to figure out the shifting. This tractor is used, had 260 hours on it when I got it, any chance the previous guys made it harder to shift?

Mine is hard to shift too; I think it is just the way they are. Usually a little touch on the pedal helps. I don't need to shift all that much though; most work can be done in M, using the hi/lo lever on the steering column for additional range. Plus, the auto hi/lo and stall-guard options help a lot, e.g., when loading the bucket. I use H only to run down the road or driveway.

Our place in the SW missed the flooding, which hit only the front range.

Has the M59 been changed to Tier 4 emissions for this year like the rest of Kubota's lineup?

Have they bumped up the power a bit? They used to advertise it as 45 pto hp from what I remember, but it's now listed at 50 PTO hp on their website.
