I have a Ford Dearborn 10-209, 3 x 16's with coulters. Yours should scour just like mine after a few hours. Looks like yours has trip bottoms when striking a solid object. Once you have it setup to your tractor the art form of plowing begins.

Your plow bottoms look identical to mine. I have had my disc pans shine, but not like the mirror finish on your moldboards. That is sweet to look at.

I have been reading and rereading the operators manual. Seems there was a lot of options for the 3 bottom 101. Incuding a kit to add a 4th bottom. I would be interested in this option and if any are available.
Also a pneumatic tail wheel. The adjustment lever would be a neat option also. The ops manual shows and tells how to mount all these options. I am impressed!
Also, the forward beam, that the forward coulter clamps to, is slightly bent. Should this be bent or should it be straight? Ford Model 101 Forward Colter Mounting Beam Bent.jpg

Plowing with a rollover eliminates the "dead" furrow. Our fields are furrow irrigated so they need to be very level. Soil is clay mostly with some gravel and we use deep suck plowshares and each field is ripped prior to plowing.

Here is a link to Messicks. I've already selected the 101 plow for you, all you need to do is select a component. Exploded views of the plow by segment, part description, and price through Messicks. I'm not sure if New Holland prices are good at every dealer, like Case/IH is or not.

Hope this helps, and hope the link carries through. If not, you should be able to copy and paste, and it will come up.

Also, if you continue to break (plow) round and round over the years you will put the dirt out of the corners cause a dip. I like the rollover plows, but I changed to a switch plow and like it better.

The bend in the plow is normal and to prevent interference.

I have added a bottom to the 101 plow and what it involves is getting that angled piece of the beam that separates the plow shanks (moldboard units). The only thing different in different plows is the beam framework. The bottom units are all the same. The beam piece you need is very expensive and used is the only way to go. Mine new was $150 ish maybe 25 years ago. I see the angled piece with a bottom on it from time to time at auctions but never quite sure what width plow it fits. It could be 12", 14" or 16". Abilene Machinery in Texas probably has scrap 101's and there should be lots in boneyards because Ford made tons of them. The 4 bottom plow also had a brace rod if I recall.

the 101 is a nice plow and works well as it is with a simple rolling wheel in the back. Saying that, the plow has its limitations and I would rather buy a different plow than put too much money into a 101. I actually changed a 3X 12" plow to a 3X 16" and then sold it for a different plow. While I have not found the parts manual yet I did find 3 16" moldboards that are nearly new.

I put the plow on the 3PH today. I knew I would have problems, as it's Cat 1 pins and My Mahindra is Cat 2 pins. I did have two bushings on hand. One fit great, but the other had to have 1/4 inch cut off. The old snap lock pin that came with the plow was ground down to fit the reduced size.............yet not enough for my Cat 2 ball. So the lock pin is not all the way through. Notice I didn't forget to move the swinging drawbar full left! Ford Plow Cat 2 Ball Too Big for Plow.jpg

I made a beautiful 1st furrow. But I was watching the plow roll the sod over at the end and got a little
crooked. Oh yeah......1st pass I had the position and draft levers all the way down. Ford Starting Second Furrow.jpg

Second pass went a little deep and I ground to a stop, as I hadn't leveled the plow with 7 inch blocks under my left tractor tires. I tried again and heard a loud.................POP. Yep................I sheared a bolt on a huge root. Ford Plow Oops.jpgFord Plow What is Wrong with this Picture.jpg

But my tires spacing in the furrow is almost perfect. Ford Plow In the Furrow.jpg

I love plowing..............and discing! Camera bag is hanging from the Rops. Ford Plow Pretty.jpg

Various pics for you. Excuse the dog pic--I can't figure out how to remove it. He loves eating soft snow. photos of next model up in ford plows and an old beam from a scrap plow. Saw at an auction yard.

you can pound out the dents in your rolling wheel. just take it off, get a ball peen hammer and an anvil and tap away from the inside out. Works great.

I have only seen spring trip shanks but Ford loved to use proprietary bolts for everything and round heads with two flats would be typical. You have some loose frame bolts in the photos so tighten those and oil the beams so they can trip easily.

Also, here are pics of a tailwheel--rolling landslide--that was bent worse than yours. A hammer, anvil and tap, tap, tap until it looks right. I might have heated it as well.

Brandi, My family lives in Brookshire, Tx just west of Houston and have a weekend place near Richards, Tx which has the same sandy East Texas Piney Woods type soil you show in your pictures. That soil is extremely well drained and has a acidic pH. It is great for high Bush Blueberries and Sassafras trees. We collect pounds of Blueberries off our property in Summer and make Sassafras tea from the tree roots and " File" from the dehydrated leaves.

Brandi, good luck with the new plow, there seems to be a learning curve to getting it set up right. I picked up a 2 bottom right after Christmas and hit my garden with it before the ground was frozen too badly, I agree with you plowing is a lot of fun.

6dogs,
I will put a wrench on everything. Maybe today. It is a wet, gate building day here. If I want to keep the plow and use with my Mahindra.............what do I do about the left hitch mount? With it being cat 1 and the tractor cat 2?
