Thank you everybody. I did order the Mr. Funnel. I guess since I'm buying my first tractor, I am worried about the whole diesel gelling thing even though we are now in our 2nd day of spring with snow flurries this morning. Hope I won't have to deal with this issue ever.

Seems like there would be a cost effective biocide, lubrication, winter treatment. PS seems to have each somewhat separately.

I'm glad we all have figured out what works for us. On me and my snake oil, I don't care to experiment on whether or not I am puking money on such. My stuff works, I sleep well at night, and I am happy.:thumbsup:

Kclark- Good luck with your new tractor. I hope that you and your tractor have many boring and uneventful hours together. Boring is good.
As I understand things the regional diesel fuel distributors adjust their fuel for the region's average seasonal temperatures prior to delivery to the local station retailers (who might further amend the fuel). #1 during Winter and #2 during Summer. If I remember correctly diesel fuel w/o additives will gel at ~17F. There are a couple of recent threads here in TBN about how much additive is needed dependent upon temperatures.

I agree, but most all seem to sell them seperately probably for profit reasons, but I'd just as soon buy one product that does everything I need. And, for some reason, I have a hard time finding a Biocide around here.
What I've really noticed is that different parts of the country (based on weather) really have different additive needs. It also depends on how you use your fuel and how you store it.
