That would explain why the two in the background weren't having any problems. I've seen bigger things than that shingle go flying a whole lot farther with a lot less wind than he is claiming.
Then again maybe the weatherman is just a wimp.

OK, now the reality for the rest of you that may be East of the Mississippi is that if you need lumber, concrete block or other building materials, get them now. Prices will probably be rising by mid week, or maybe the weekend. I've already seen some effects.
I just ordered a water filter from Cabelas, and half expected them to be out of stock. Mine is mainly for camping, but it's also a good thing to have on hand for emergencies.
I built a small camp in 2003 and never mind the prices; I couldn't find plywood or OSB subfloors anywhere. What little bit the lumberyards had in stock they were saving for their regular customers.

A friend of ours that is with law enforcement near Wilmington NC said he checked his deer cam and it was not good...!
