Anyone Own A L6060?

As mentioned, ROPS models have a toolbox.

Extremely slow lifting of the FEL is due to misadjustment of three point mechanism. Been fighting this off and on for nearly three years now. Do you have draft control?

Mine is a cab model. Kubota does not offer any toolbox for the cab models.

I do not have draft control. Do you have draft control? Is that part of the problem?

Light compared to what though? Weight-wise they're in line with LS and others. If you're really having a problem with rear traction that sounds like something that a little ballast off the 3pt could solve.

Maybe my frame of reference is all wrong coming from a 2.5-3k lb tractor to the L4760 but I have zero traction problems. I can run around w/ 600lb round bales out front with nothing on the 3pt all day. With our snow storm this month I was pushing 20" x 6' x 15-20' of snow out of driveways without issues.

I've been chipping away at the giant dirt pile left behind out house from excavation and I can run at full throttle into that pile and the tractor will stall out(w/ stall guard off) before I spin the wheels in M + HDS-L. No problems getting a full load of dirt in the HD bucket.

I'll be the first to admit that I'm no expert but that doesn't line up with my experience on the L4760 at least.

Light as compared to other 50+ HP farm tractors, e.g., MF, NH, etc.

Not complaining, just stating the obvious.

I have a large Kubota ballast box for use with mine as well as two cast iron weights on each side, but it's a CUT and is not designed for pulling.

My 2WD 1955 Ford 860 will pull my 6060 into the next county. Admittedly, the Ford is fully weighted and has R1 tires whereas the 6060 has R4s, which will not pull the hat off of ones head, but the Ford is designed for plowing, whereas the 6060 is not.

Yes, and FEL problem showed up after the draft control was added.

Tinkering with the three point feedback linkage (not part of the draft control system) can make the problem go away but it comes back.

Tech has told me that he has seen this issue on similar tractors without draft control.

On my cab L4060 I just use a canvas tool bag behind the seat.
With filled R4’s I don’t notice any issues with rear weight. With fel frame and front / rear plows, I weigh in right at 7k for snow duty.
(6300 lbs with just the bucket).
I think the 6060 weighs like 300 lbs more than a 4060. For my use weight was more a factor than hp.
One thing that has come to mind is that the alternator doesn’t put out any amps at anything lower than about 1200 engine rpms. When I’m operating at night it would become painfully obvious at idle. I set the hand throttle to 1500 rpms or so, then use the Auto Throttle Advance to tie the hst pedal to the throttle.

“$50,000 tractor and no tool box??? Hard to believe.”

Well, A lot of new automobiles have no spare tire or jack....one is supposed to have AAA so the dealerships tell us. Next time you are out in the field and need a spare Lynch pin just phone AAA and see what they say! :)

I bought a Kubota L6060 in late 2016, it now has about 400 hours on it and it has been a great machine. I have 4 sets of rear wheel weights and 55 gallons of windshield washer fluid in each of the rear tires, traction isn't a problem for the use I have for it. Inside the cab, left of the seat and to the rear is tool storage area. Cab is great, hydrostatic drive is great, hydraulics are great. Phone Pics 010 (2).jpgIMG_1945.JPG

How heavy are your wheel eights? I have two sets a side as well, but yours stick out more; dealer said I could only use three each side, but I don't need it.

The Kubota weights are 106 Lbs. each + bolts.

I have two on each side as well and plan to add a third to each side because a third will extend only slightly beyond the rim.

I never use liquid ballast because I repair/change all of my own tires.

We must have our wheels set differently. We fix flats on ours too, but we still put fluid in. Now when we get one on our M8540 we call a service truck; just one flat and we decided, naw too old. As time passes, we'll probable take the tire off and trailer it to the dealer.

Here are the steps I got.

Do you find the steps on the right side useful? After 55 years of driving tractors I don’t ever remember getting out on the right side.
